News: LBS: Jerry Jones makes concerning admission on radio show

I’m honestly not surprised
I was strangely relieved. Not because I want Jerry going over the gameplan. Just that, like you, I wasn't surprised. I was afraid it would be something worse, like Jerry called in an audible or it was Jerry that insisted Dak stay in the game at the end of the 4th quarter.

Jerry going over the gameplan is par for the course unfortunately.

If Jerry, who understands the game better than many of us, wants to have the coach explain the game plan so he knows what to watch and can enjoy the game more and evaluate his coaches whom he hired, I’m perfectly okay with that. If Jerry wants to ask questions about the game plan, possibly annoying his coach, I’m okay with that.

If Jerry wants to overrule the coach and change the game plan, then I have a problem. I do not believe Jerry does that.

He said something similar on the pregame show before the LA game. I wanted to puke at first, then I realized he is just trying to stick his name in on things. This way he can claim all of his precious credit should things happen to go well.

Did we think Jerry wasnt't involved before seeing this? Of course he is.

Do we now think he actually has much input on game plans? No shot.

Jerry knows better than to do that to himself....he just wants his name on it, especially when things are going well.

LOL. You actually believe Kraft doesnt know whats going on within his business?

I had my own business for 5 years, and I am still a little involved with it when needed. It has been 10 years now, but it is still going strong.
Though small and had 4 to 6 employees at any one time, but also had 2 to 4 sub contractors for certain duty's. Such as cleaning, lawn maintenance, entertainment.
I worked a full time job also. But I still had full control over it all. I did all my own paperwork, banking most of the time, unless someone ran to make a deposit at the bank for me at times.
I allowed some to do any ordering for supplies, but I still kept up on what they were doing. So they did not go overboard.

When I tried to give them more authority to take pressure off of myself and clear up some time. It did not work all the time, I still over seen everything.

So if I ever had a much bigger business I would do the same. Maybe not the everyday operations, but sure would want to know the "game plan" as to what was going on.
They must tell me what their ideas and thoughts were. However owning a small business, is far different. But there are still the comparisons as to wanting to know what is going on.

In my case it was my money and far less than what Jerry is concerned with, and the people that worked for me were not all that great at business decisions as what they thought. However, Jerry trusts his guys for this, as all owners. But they still want to know.

Business? Yes, of course. The details of game planning and play calling? I highly doubt it.

How did you change this to the business aspect? Just curious.

Because the Cowboys are Jerry's BUSINESS. Every aspect of it. Not hard to comprehend my friend.

I don’t think this is anything new. Jethro meddles . Always have and always will. There’s so much we don’t know about.

I bet many of you would do the same thing. Tell me that as much as many of us LOVE football, if we were owners we wouldn't want to go over the game plan with the coach. Please. I know for a fact I would.

for real. This just in, billionaire football fan discusses football with employee.

Yes, everything from “ socks to jocks”.

It’s been such a dominating force since Jimmy left that all of the franchises are modeling after Jethro's ways . Oh wait…

It’s really sad how many fans we have that defend our dysfunctional ownership. Because Jethro runs our team just like these yahoos probably would. Lol

And why the phrase “he runs our franchise thru eyes of a fan “ is the most accurate description I’ve seen.

This is not news, he has already said all the game plans get passed by him as they did with Garrett.

The question I had when this first came out was is this standard in the NFL, what other GM's "approve" the game plan from their HC's? Do they even ask for them?

You thought this tool was kidding about "jocks to socks", didn't you?

The level of involvement of the Joneses in the day to day, usually regarded as the HC's territory, is unknown except with Johnson and Parcells, the only two times this has actually looked like a real football team.

The first time this reared it's really ugly head was that DB we had as a FA for almost a season before he moved on to another team. He said he had never been with any team that held up the team meetings because the owner and his son were running late. Guess their priorities are suspect?

Camp Cupcake counselor, Wade Phillips, asked to increase fines for players being late to even missing meetings and was not only denied by this enabling buffoon but he issues "media passes" for the stars so they can fulfill their first requirement, priming the marketing and promotion pump. Have you ever heard of anything like this with any sports organization?

If this is a revelation to you, I hope that was warm sand you had your head in about the management of this team. This is the Cluster of the NFL and the main reason the team struggles. These aren't veterans used to working for mismanaged companies and circumventing the problems, management, these are inexperienced young men that don't know how a real team operates until they go to one.
