That's not what the coach said. He said both Connors would play but not what positions. We all know McGovern has been playing a few snaps at the Jumbo formation. So if that continues and Williams plays all game at LG then what the coach said will be true.

I guess Tyron Smith is playing..this move is not because McGovern is an upgrade at LG.
This move is because of:

1. The Connor Williams holding problems that some feel he's being targeted for
2. McGovern is the future. CW is gone next year for Salary Cap reasons

Connor Williams will be a starting LG in the NFL next year for someone

Williams isn't being sent to the bench. There are just a bunch of posters with agendas lying about it. MM never said Williams was being benched so don't believe the lies.

He's a solid starting guard but the penalties have been killer. Sounds like the front office thinks he's being targeted for the holding calls,
that the Refs are talking and looking for #52 before the game even begins.

Wow.. if true this is a monster move either way. If McGovern flops it means the coaches don't know what they're watching in practice and if he balls out it means they took 10 weeks to see what most of us saw in September.
Classic win-win

Killer? What game did they lose because of his penalties? Calling his penalties a killer is an overreaction. No penalties against your team are convenient but no one is perfect. He's not costing us games so I think the criticism is a bit overdone.

yup and IDC who starts there as long as they are the best at that position on the team..that remains to be seen..theres reason it took the coaches this long to make the move.
