Who cares about Felix Jones and Joseph Randle?

If you want to go that route than Zeke looks like Marion Barber at the end of his time here.

Pollard compares to Felix Jones and Joseph Randle. Our OL isn’t getting it done if you can’t see that you’re lost. Pollard wouldn’t have put up 15 yards last week on all of his carries if it wasn’t for that one big run. He strikes out a lot. He averaged under 3 yards a carry in our loss to Denver and he averaged under 4 yards a carry in our loss to the Raiders. He was unable to pop a run against the Raiders and only gained 36 yards on 10 carries. Fans were wanting to trade him early in the season. He’s a good complementary back that’s what he is!

It really is baffling that people talk about Zeke and Pollard after watching Pollard have 0 success between the tackles as well as Zeke. lol

Well as you know.. Zeke makes 15 million a year so he is supposed to make his own holes..

Love his heart but if he’s gimping around this week again they gotta consider benching him

I think if Pollard were more reliable in blitz pickup OR the line was playing better in general they would have sat him a long time ago and let him heal up.. But with the line leaking badly they simply need him out there to watch Dak's back.

Anytime we ask Dak to do less it’s better for our football team and Zeke was a lot better early on. He surprised me.

But.

Pollard has 163 yards less than Zeke and Zeke ha 66 more carries.

If you want a more productive run game the answer is simple.. Give Pollard more carries and Zeke less.
It's not always that simple or linear. I'm in to try....but no guarantees.....he's not had to carry a load like that since maybe high school. Suddenly he's bell cow.

Yes.. A lot of RBs made careers out of hitting the big play.

Sometimes that’s how the running game works.

Pollard is a homerun hitter. A big play guy. I’m not shocked he had a big play. That’s part of his game.

Some of you can only equate things to Cowboys football.

Hey let me participate in your stupidity. I think Pollard is Tony Dorsett because his name is Tony and he is fast.

Lol @CATCH17 didn't you and I have almost the exact same baseball analogy the other day?

Nah.. He’s Tony Dorsett because his name is Tony, fast, and plays for Dallas and I just think all of the current players are players of the past.

I do actually agree with you on this. Jones and Randle were able to look great because they were faster and scored some big plays on less plays, but couldn't handle the bell cow. That said, I can't for the life of me understand how you have a knee injury that doesn't improve with rest. I am all for Pollard taking some additional snaps while Zeke gets healthy AND we figure out the OL issues, which is the bigger problem IMO.

FWIW - I think Pollars is better than either Jones or Randle as well, but the comparison is still apt. I also think the franchise made a massive mistake letting DeMarco Murray walk.

I could care less if he “carries the load.”

You guys are obsessed with saying this stupid phrase.

You all envy the Patriots run game but they plug and play all of the time for years.

Forget about “carrying the load”. Give Pollard more carries and give Zeke less.

Nobody is asking to suddenly give Pollard 25 carries a game and Zeke 5.

Tony Dorsett is the last player he compares to. lol Don’t get me wrong Pollard is a good player in the role he has. Allow him to return kick off’s, get a few snaps at RB and I wouldn’t be opposed to lining them up as a receiver. Have plays designed to get him in space.

Zeke isn’t effective in the role he’s in now. He can’t carry the load. He is 163
Yards ahead of Pollard with 66 more carries. Sad.

He reminds me of the old Marion Barber because well.. They both played for Dallas and are big backs who got paid then sucked.

I dunno man.. Felix averaged almost 7 ypc until they got the bright idea to make him the every down back. His first two seasons were STOOPID .. 8.9 ypc followed by 5.9.. He also averaged better than 26 yards per kick return those two seasons. Dude was a legit home run waiting to happen and I couldn't swear to it but I think he got tackled for losses with less frequency.. At least that's my recollection. But the difference between he and Pollard is not so pronounced that I would argue all that vociferously either way. Very similar players. Randle doesn't belong in the conversation. And I also would have kept Murray..

Pollard is definitely better than Joseph Randle. Felix Jones was terrific when used sparingly. He once returned a kick off for a TD. He had several long TD runs at RB. He regressed when he started putting on weight. I believe he was 207 when we drafted him and bulked up to around 220. It cost him speed and quickness. He was never the same player once he put on weight and we made him our primary back. He was a complementary RB in college just like Pollard.

Most of Zeke’s yards come between the tackles. He gets a lot of dirty yards as Garrett called them. He’s basically a 4-12 yard push the pile back. He can wear on a defense and soften it up. Most of Pollard’s big games have been due to one or two big runs. If he doesn’t pop a run he doesn’t get much that day. This is what happened to him against Denver and the Raiders. He’s not going to consistently give us 4 yards a carry but Zeke can when healthy.

With our OL issues no back will be effective. That’s the root of our running game problems.

Zeke ain’t doing anything. Stop it with acting like he’s doing some kind of dirty work that some base salary back can’t do with his volume.

He looks awful. Even Aikman was calling him out in the nicest way possible the other night.

To be fair even Zeke is struggling to keep the offense on schedule with the chains between the way the line is (not) blocking, the brain dead play calling and of course his own injury. But the fact remains that if he can consistently get 3-4 yards the rest of the offense can use that as an building block upon which to build. The question is whether Pollards 2 ypc most of the time with an occasional BOOM! run is better than Zeke's 3 ypc and its cumulative effect on the defense over time. But as long as Moore isn't going to run Zeke more than 5 carries a half it's really a moot point. If that's the plan then most of the carries should go to Pollard because his style and game are better suited to that type of usage. It may be kinda herky jerky but it saves Zeke more punishment and keeps the possibility of a big play on the table..

Pollards effective.

Thats pretty obvious to everyone who isn’t a Zeke apologist.
