To be honest I've been waiting for something like this from this organization for a very long time!

I have no issue, Fans may have 0 confidence in this team but the HC does. When Jimmy did it with his put it in 3 inch letters he did so because he fully believed in his team. McCarthy believes in this team and yes the comments put more pressure on them to bear down and focus on what they need to do. Talent wise there is no reason Dallas should not win this game

It will say a lot about our team and Dak and def, about winning against bad teams, occasional tripping is OK but I am going to call out everyone, if we lose any game other than with Ariz

Could WFT fans chanting "We want Dallas." Be considered bulletin board material for Cowboys players? Could some NFL pundits picking the Football team to beat the Cowboys be considered bulletin board material? Just asking.

When Jimmy said it there were still doubters because Emmit was still nursing the separated shoulder from the Giants game and the 49ers had just beaten the Giants 44-3 in the 1st round. So Jimmy said it to take pressure off the team and the Cowboys dominated, the ending score was actually closer than what really happened in the game....I had never seen Steve Young so beaten up,

Lol at fans in here thinking words can fire up an opposing team to victory. If the Cowboys are a better team they will thrash WFT no matter what words were said. Words do not play on the field. Good on McCarthy as this will fire up his team LOL.

You apparently contradicted yourself.

If words do not play on the field, then why should McCarthy's words fire up his team? And if his words fire up his team, how would we measure that? How do YOU measure whether his words fired up his team? By how loud they yell in the pregame pep talk or how they play on the field?

And if words don't matter or translate to field play, why utter the prediction at all?

lol, they actually made a video about how beating the Cowboys is how they can "build a legacy" and have been hyping themselves and their team up for this game for 1-2 weeks. I don't know if McCarthy is going to get them more "fired up" than they already are for this game. They're already treating it like it is the most important game of the season and one of the one important games of their lifetime.

I think some fans who are already worried and afraid of the WFT, just wanted McCarthy to use coach speak to say that WFT is a good team and he knows the game against them will be tough or something like that. Or they expect him and the team to have the same thoughts that some Cowboys fans have about the Football team and for McCarthy to act like he is afraid of them or has no confidence in his players ability to beat them.

Obviously the Cowboys have to respect the WFT and not take them lightly. But at the same time, I would hope that McCarthy and the team has the belief that they are going to win on Sunday and don't share the mentality of the pessimistic Cowboys fans who are already marking this game down as a loss before it's even played. If they go in acting like they are afraid of the WFT or that they have no chance against them and believe they are going to lose before the game is even played, then they are already going to be defeated before that game is played.

Good stuff, here. I expect that McCarthy will make sure to emphasize how fanatic they are about beating Dallas. He'll inform them carefully about their talent level, especially on defense. The more experienced players will likely speak to the younger guys about their upcoming game being the WFT players' version of the Super Bowl. It's nuts how obsessed they are with such hatred of the Cowboys -- reminiscent of the days of George Allen.

I once worked with an older lady who lived in their territory. She was an ardent football fan who knew, firsthand, how crazy their fans were about beating the Cowboys. According to her tales, they always used to talk about beating the Cowboys like it was their main yearly objective. It brought me to fully realize how obsessed they are in that regard. I'll bet MM is likely aware of it and will make sure to pass it on to his players.

good on Mike, nowt wrong with confidence. As many posters have said it's the same as Jimmy all those years ago and it annoyed the 49ers so much they started the game with a 15 yard penalty I believe.

Make the players confident but not arrogant or complacent. We are better man for man so should win on paper but the game isn't played on paper so make sure they take the right attitude on the field.

Must say I like this...........I like it a lot.

If we lose since we are such a better team and more talented then it must be because of our coaching or the officiating . Lol

Big Mike putting his mojo on display for all to see and I like it! He has beat Covid, he is unstoppable!

This is his month. He owns December.

It is a done deal. We will win. The ones complaining are haters.

To me all that does not matter, I have no issue with McCarthy standing up and pretty much challenging his team to go out and win. I don't care about so called bulletin board stuff because once the ball is kicked off it comes down to player going out and executing their jobs. If the Cowboys do that they can win this game and should win this game, and if they fail to do so they can lose.

it will because we failed to go out and do the job, players have a job to do as do the coaches. Yes and I would say looking at these 2 lineups the Cowboys personnel wise should win this game from a talent stand point.

You tell 'em Mike. Put some stakes on this game. Of we can't win this game, then we probably ain't current out for January on a serious level. Mike upped the ante and we better deliver.
