Mistake not giving Kelvin Joseph PT

This is a critique I have with this team right now.

They are 1 play away from him becoming a starter and it would be good experience for him to play in some of these games with Dallas having a big lead and they have just not gave him an opportunity whatsoever.

This isn’t a bash Anthony Brown thread or anything but basically get your insurance policy at DB a little experience.

Id hate to see this guy get his first start against a elite QB in the playoffs and never have got much playtime.

If we get up a couple scores on WFT then let the guy play. Give him a few series.

Snaps and reps are limited. Teams give their starters the essential reps to prepare for the upcoming opponent. Unless there's an injury, you give them to your starter.

Canady is probably the depth outside corner IMO.

Joseph has missed valuable practice time this year. He was drafted as a raw corner with upside.
I would be surprised if he's the emergency corner at this point.

Generally I agree, but these games have been a little close.

If they try to sneak him in there and he got beat, all you'd hear is how stupid it was to try to play him.

But yeah I'm hoping the Washington game provides an opportunity for him to get some snaps.

Several things in play with this one.

What has Joseph done to earn playing time. Is he doing what needs to be done in practice, in meetings as well.
Why should,d he be given PT just because some fans want that.
I understand it, as I would not mind seeing him out there also. But I am ok with the way things are now, as long as it is working.

And it since it is working, then you do not disturb that. Keep the flow and chemistry going. Even in big leads. And the only really big lead as in the Falcons game.

Bossman is a raw rookie. This was always intended to be his red shirt year IMO.

He's had some set backs. He didn't have much of a training camp. They are working him in slowly getting the majority of his reps through special teams. They are handling him correctly.

If they need someone I'd imagine they'd poach someone off of someones practice squad or go with someone on the roster. The fans probably will gripe he was a bad pick but Joseph's time is more than likely next year.

Hardy saw carries because Zeke was hurt and Clements was ahead of him. He was more so 2A that game than he was the 4th string. So I'd imagine if Diggs and Brown or Lewis get hurt Joseph too would get reps.

That was a different situation. The 2 RB's were injured, or hampered somewhat. They had no choice but to have them out there, as Pollard was not even playing that game.

But I agree.
As in my post, what has Joesph done to earn playing time. More because he has missed time, as opposed to being a 2nd round pick.

I would not say stubborn. How many times have we heard coaches, from all teams say....he earned PT from the way he has played during practices and shown up in meetings....

Frankly i admit that i forgot totally about Canaday.
Is he still on IR ? I assumed so.

I haven't heard from him since his concussion but i haven't seen him on the field on special teams.
and i haven't seen his name on inactive list.

But i thought that Kelvin Joseph played just a few snaps in that spot.when Diggs was dinged in the Vikes game.

I think Quinn knows what he is doing, god forbid that he has to come to a message board to learn how to do his job. As a coach he sees these guys day in and day out and I really think he has a better feel for where HIS players are and who should be in the starting lineup.
