Aikman said Romo was a better QB than he was. I don't think you'll ever hear him say the same about Dak.

Romo had some talented teams (never a complete one) but also some awful teams compared to Dak. Romo made no-name receivers better. Anyone remember Laurent Robinson and Terrance Copper? Sorry, but Dak doesn't do the same. He needs talent at that position to succeed. That's because he's simply not as accurate, good at reading defenses, and delivering the ball as fast (quick release) as Romo. I don't think it's a coincidence that Dak's best winning season as QB was his rookie season with Romo on the sidelines with him. You think Garrett or Wade Wilson had anything to do with it?

The problem with Romo was he took more chances and was snake-bit, but the latter was also partially due to having average coaching or worse throughout his career (except for Parcells) and trying to do more than necessary to make things happen.

I agree....Dak is lower than 3-5 on the list of fixes. So we got that I guess!

The thing is you won;t see me bashing Dak. Am I critical? Sure. (I've been more critical of Zeke this year...and Moore).

But find just ONE comment from me that "he can;t get it done" or "well never win"....or "it's all Dak's fault".

I make this challenge to people like you who claim I'm a hater and blamer. So far...no one has been able to come with even ONE. But there you go....try. Or give it a rest.

perhaps its the folks you associate with! mounatineer cowboy, captain crash , Khalidi etc. all bonifde haters and part time trolls when you like on their post of bashing unfairly or not. And dont ask me to go back through the threads and give you examples i dont have the time or energy to do this. neither does anyone else which is probably why no one takes you up on your offers to do so. no you dont necessarily bash dak I havent seen that. I do think you perceive comments anyone makes as a personal attack on you which isnt the case. I dont think youre a hater i do think you fall into the romosexual category but you do you.

Zeke is not a very likeable player and his performance has fell off dramatically so your love for him is going to find you in the middle of the fray quite often.

"more respected". Proof?

are you blind its on record that were players that took issue with the Romo, Witten and Garrett bonds and how the players felt they had a different set of rules. You go look the stuff up youre not stupid. These players love dak even if some of the fans dont

As much as you guys accuse me of it, you;d think you can remember just ONE.

Guilty by "association"? There's some cross over agreement...just like you and me. Doesn't mean we're in cahoots.

I fall into the "romosexual" category because Romo gets unfairly blasted. "he's a choker" "he never won a big game". Lies.

But when it's Dak...there's excuses and "but it's a team game". They don't use the same standards....hypocrites.

When dak has the same volume of work and the same career numbers...I'll do the same for him...super bowl or not.

you fall into the category because you are one. you love his rags to riches story and has said as much. I'm not going to waste bandwidth arguing with you on it there has been enough of that here and at the ranch. Please dont tell me about excuses because romo fans were king of the excuses. and you can throw out daks name all you wish with me. It don't irk me like you want it too. Like I said he isnt close to my favorite player

You do you man I dont care if you love him and consider the dude the greatest QB in cowboys history i myself have him 4th. And he did choke as did the rest of his team and the biggest reason in my opinion was because of one Jason garrett and its part of what daks issue has been as well.

Dak seems to be similar to Romo in being a QB who puts up good stats and wins against average teams and also puts up good stats against good teams but it seems to be late game catchup stats which ultimately come up short after falling behind early.
You are clueless. Romo could carry the team. He would throw the TD to take the lead and then the defense would let him down. It took Dak 41 games before he threw a TD in the last 2 minutes of any game. What's scary is Dak couldn't get a read on what the Cards were doing on defense. Putting everyone on the line, Dak didn't know what to do and he's in his 6th year!

What's even worse about this is the defense actually DID get the ball back, but the play was called incorrectly. Dak was clutch in comebacks in 2016 and he still has one of the best 4th quarter ratings around, but he IS starting to feel a touch like Romo. Something isn't right in Dak's head. He is hesitating too much. It was clear that AZ had a really good defensive game plan. It looked like they disguised coverages in ways other teams hadn't done to us and it definitely confused Dak.
I think it was Zeke who was clutch in 2016. 1631 yards, 15 TDs With that rushing attack Dak could knit a sweater with the time he had in the pocket.

We just had a great agreement dak isn't a top emergency problem. Not sure why you bury that. Afraid of being in agreement with a flamin' hater?:(

This says a lot about Romo and his teams...

We lost by three points and we likely win if the defense makes a stop in the end (or if the special teams hadn't cost us the timeout we needed to make sure the it would actually count when the defense did make the stop).

This wasn't a "garbage time" game. It was a close NFL game.

So many idiots here have now decided that "garbage time" means that anything that happens late in the game doesn't count because they personally felt discouraged earlier in the game.

Our fans are absolute trash. Worst, dumbest fanbase in all of sports.

Because of injuries, Romo played a total of 8 seasons worth of games. He's still like 23rd in TD passes all time. More than Steve Young, Jim Kelly, or Kurt Warner.

He has 83 more TDs than Aikman, and 24 less picks. Yeah, Romo sucked alright.
"well, romo hurt my feelings when he went Hollywood." lmao did somebody actually cry about that. sheesh.

He is an emergency if your main objective is winning a SB. Ain’t happening with Dak. Mark it for later.

Put it this way. By 2010, the “vaunted” Cowboys OL, the one that got Romo completely obliterated and led to Wade Phillips being fired, was the oldest in the league. Romo was basically injured because of another example of a free blitzer running wide open to lay Romo out.

Columbo, Davis, Gurode and Kosier were ALL 32 years old and Free, their fourth starter was the youngest at 26. Not a single one lasted three more years in the league. If you count the backups like Holland who was 30 and Costa who was 23 and Barron 28, it still was over 30 years old as a whole.

By 2016, the average age was 26 years old.

Tyron Smith is now around 30-31 and all the Dak-stans claiming it’s his fault, say he’s too old and washed. That’s the whole line of average guys Romo was carrying.

wasnt that gronks brother who whiffed on the block that led to romos collarbone breaking the first time?
