Where the actual Cowboys fans at?

I'm not down at all, I am optimistically cautious lol.

believe me, I'd LOVE to see them hoist a trophy, but same story seems to happen every so often, they get to the playoffs then can't go all the way or get close.

I am shell shocked to be honest after so long.

But I would love to see them win 4X in a row, starting now.

But then you are putting past failure on these players and these coaches who were not part of that. What Dallas did in the past really has nothing to do with this current team or this current staff.

The concerning thing with the Cowboys is they can look terrific one week and come back looking flat the next week. We saw a prime example of that after they blew out Washington and came back flat against Arizona the following week. They haven’t looked very good against good teams and good QBs. I was anything but impressed with our defense on Saturday night against the Eagles. We were getting manhandled up front by their backups. San Francisco will gash us all day if we can’t stop the run on Sunday. It will be very reminiscent of the Denver game if we’re not ready. It’s frustrating when you see the team put up a great performance one week and look terrible the next.
We have seen them early in the year shut teams down.. All the way to the pats game. That was a playoff type game. If we can come out and play like that then we can not only beat anyone but we can destroy a team. Would love nothing more than to see us go to the Super Bowl and not only win but have the game over by the end of the first quarter. And just keep pouring it on..

sorry how long have Dak and Zeke been in the league now?

Emmitt smith was drafted 1990, won the superbowl in 1992, 1993. Aikman, drafted 1989.. 3 years later...

now that is not all the players fault, but still... i'm not here to root for them to achieve old age on my team by farting around.

Just Do it.

You are Dallas Cowboys, Excellence is mandatory.

Crazy that fans of the #3 seed in the NFC can find so many reasons to delegitimize their own team. I honestly think there are fans (a bunch of them) that cannot wait for us to lose in the playoffs because they would rather say "I told you so" than to see Dak hoist the trophy... shameful

?

What would make you think of a crazy thing like that?….is that the way you felt when Romo was quarterback?……so you put out a “made up” premise like this and then say “shameful” ?

Wow, I guess it takes all kinds.

That is not true. It is pathetic that some fans can't discuss the team without getting offended or feeling personally attacked. This is a chat board not pom pom squad auditions.
Lol. Coming from the guy who went and posted statistics from 2020 to prove how bad this team was in the red zone this year lol. You’re exactly who the OP is talking about

I think the defense makes this time around different.

However, a huge wart by the name of OFFENSE has arose and put a blemish on my confidence.

If the oline does its job the offense will hum, and sky is the limit.

yep. only they can do what they need to , to win though.

let's GO guys! play with everything you have!!!

I'm excited. The Dallas defense is playing hot and have 16 sacks and 11 interceptions in December. To me that doesn't bode well for the type of game Garoppalo plays and I think the pass rush will bother him all day. On offense their pass rush will certainly get after Dak but I don't think they have DBs to match the Cowboys receivers and I think you'll see some chunk plays against them. I look for Dallas to take an early lead and lean on Zeke/Pollard to close the game. A healthy T. Smith and Zeke's blocking in the passing game are keys to me. I also think both Maliks Turner/Hooker have nice days, they'd both been improving.

Do fans being down or gaurded or happy or sad determine the game? Of course not..why do people whine about other people's way of rooting for their team... nobody does it right or wrong... people might think your a weirdo, but that doesn't make them right, same as you might them..these fan callout threads are really stupid..imo
:hammer:

As a 41 year old dude who lived and died Cowboys football in the 90’s, I’m psyched for this game….I hope the team understands the significance of this matchup even though many of them were not alive for the 90’s games. I’m sure most of them do.

You make a point here about something else. I don't think the Romo era and maybe this era, hopefully not though, I don't think they know how to play for a team labeled "America's Team." When you have that label, every team will give you their best. We are their SB. The Eagles coach only made a "Beat Dallas" shirt for their game with us and not the any of the other teams they played. That's what the 90's team so great. They rose to the occasion and won 3 out of 4 SB's getting other teams best effort. Romo's teams wilted under the intense pressure. I ain't going to lie, that Broncos game was a huge disappointment for me. I didn't think this team had that in them, losing to an inferior team like the way they did. We did lose to the 6-10 Rams in 1992. But that loss wasn't an embarrassment like the Broncos game was. I still believe in this team. GO COWBOYS!!

Mainly I'm just sad for those that have lost the ability to enjoy the ride.

Emmitt Smith WON A GAME for us with his ARM dislocated to get the playoff seed on their way to the superbowl.

THAT is the kind of DETERMINATION AND WILL we need now!

They are 2 players, last time I checked there are 53 total players and 11 at one time on offense and on defense. Dak playoff stats are not poor and Zeke has posted good numbers in post season. Winning will take the entire team effort. As for Aikman and Emmitt, great players but there were a lot of great players on those teams and all those games stepped up guys like James Washington, Jay Novacheck, Charles Haley and an dominating OL. I would add those 1st few season outside of plan B free agency we did not lose a lot of players over the course of that time so those were great teams who played together for pretty much the entire time they were winning SB

fact is others play avg teams as well and often those games are very much competitive, Cowboys did what they were supposed to do vs those teams. KC that was going to be a tough game on the road, Dallas lost I make no excuses for it but knew going in that would be a hard game. Cards game for me was the most disappointing, close game but did not do enough to win. Philly game did nothing to make me feel better, Dallas did what I felt they would do.

As for San Fran and the playoff atmosphere, I'm curious to see how these guys respond especially the young players on this team who this is their 1st time playing in post season and how they respond to it. I feel they have the weapons and the ability to play with anyone and in a post season where it is 1 game winner take all and loser goes home players tend to focus in a lot more. We will see.

We’ll find out the first time San Francisco gets the ball how this game is going to shape up. If they start gashing us with the run early on it’s going to be a long day. If we get down something like 17-7 by mid way in the second quarter it’s going to be one of those days. We have to stuff the run and put them in third and a long situations. We can’t allow Jimmy G to manage the game. We have to force him to beat us.

Nobody had the Cowboys winning 12 games preseason. I had them pegged at 10 and most places I saw were between 7 and 10 wins. We won 12.

No one expected our offense to be #1, top 10 maybe, even the most optimistic top 5, but #1...

We all wanted our defense to be average to give the team a chance... but lead the league in turnovers? Our D was the reason we won a few games... I wouldn't have predicated that.

Why so down?

6-10 losing at the Giants of all places to close 2020 season , without Dak and here it is a year later 12 wins a division champ and an exciting game coming up ….good news read all about it , Jerry turns ship around details at 6 !

I fully understand wanting emotional insurance when being a fan of this team. I do it differently though.

I subscribe to: if they win, awesome! If they lose, whatever... and I move on with life. Taking joy in the team losing makes no sense to me, though.

Some people enjoy being right more than seeing the Cowboys have success.

Judge Joe 10-23

Ron Rivera 14-19

MM 18-15

All three clubs made a change last yr , I would say we ended up on top of that cliff .

I know for sure it takes a team... yeah and they had to play great players to achieve what they did, Like Steve young, Jerry Rice.

why do you feel the need to rationalize why Dallas may not succeed? I demand that they try their best to do so. Imho that is being a good fan. I will root for them all the way, but they need to deliver.

neither the 70's or 90's teams won SB's by talking we'll get better. they went out and DID get better until they were the best. they DETERMINED their path. they did not allow others to determine it for them. I merely want to see some of that spark in our current team.

otherwise they can go play on Jimmy's OTHER practice field.

GO COWBOYS!!

You're right, I had us going 8-8-1. I'm happy that we made the play offs and I'm rooting so hard against the hated 49'ers. I'm super hyped and nervous at the same time. Not feeling too confident, but I'm hoping for the best. I have far too many 9'ers fans in my orbit that finally came out of hibernation to stomach. C'mon Cowboys. We need this as a fanbase.

As a 49 year old guy who is Blessed to have watched the Cowboys play in 2 Championship games in person (93' & 95') at Candlestick Park I, am pumped for this upcoming playoff game as in every playoff game that we appear in. At the beginning of the season I predicted a 9-8 record so the team has exceeded my expectations.. I would say I am overall Cautiously Optimistic - its time to ROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mainly I'm just sad for those that have lost the ability to enjoy the ride.
Don't you think enjoying the ride for 26yrs will make people sick of the ride, what people want is the ride to end with a long awaited post season run..hey I don't begrudge anyone enjoying this season,I've enjoyed it,but we all want more, and the old ride is not fun anymore..but that's how I feel, and feeling that way won't make it happen on the field but neither will the people who say relax, enjoy the ride..it doesn't make me or you right...it will all be determined on the gridiron..with all of us hoping for the same outcome.
