Why are some of us scared?

Why are some scared?

Because some take themselves/this game too seriously. Because it’s been so long since Dallas has done anything to justify the hype and the nickname. Because too many stupid and delusional people are so aggressively snarky about A GAME, made even more pathetic by it’s tenuous nature.
Heavy words, but true

You have to play someone good. The team I wanted no part of was the Rams. The team I wanted the most was the saints. Anyone else won't be easy but winnable

They're all playoff teams.
TB gave up the second-fewest points in the NFC this year.

I get it. You've got your narrative and you're sticking to it. "Dak is bad against good teams. Therefore, whenever he's good, the other team is bad." I mean, you're seriously trying to argue that TB isn't a good team.
Not here to argue, I really believe Tampa is an avg. team and think we will destroy them if given another chance.I think we are the only playoff team they have beaten? No one wants to talk about that as it is Tom B. They do bring up our schedule however. They beat the Bills too maybe. Wentz put up 300 and 3 td on that team. Again, I hope I'm wrong and Dak blows up that secondary of 49'ers!

TB beat four playoff teams, us, the Eagles, Patriots and Bills.

I think Tampa is VERY good. Very good at the skill positions, well coached, tough defense, and Brady at QB. That said, they’re beatable, just like us.

We don’t have to be scared to voice some concerns. What’s the big deal. We can’t discuss the matchups?

Discussing the matchups is not what I've been reading on here. If you are doing that, then obviously nothing is wrong with that. The ones I'm talking about are more like, "Oh, no, we got San Francisco, we're doomed. Why couldn't we have gotten anyone but San Francisco?!!"

It's realism, the times we got hot this year were against pretty poor teams. 49ers are a scrappy team with playoff experience and a good offensive minded coach. It's going to be a tough game.

We should definitely expect a tough game, but other than Philly, I think that would be true. And even with Philly, it had been playing a lot better before sidelining most of its starters against us.

We've got to win against some tough teams to make it where we want to go.

26 years of PTSD

This.

Blame Romo. Or Dak. Or the trip to Cabo. Or COVID trips to sporting events. Or the refs. Or the spot. Or the hold.

For more than 25 years, we have consistently found a way to lose. As the favorite. As the underdog. At home and on the road.

It’s difficult to enter any postseason with an unfazed confidence.

Some, on paper, are obviously going to be tougher than others. 49ers to many are a team that squeezed into the playoffs, it's very different than facing the Packers. I would say the 49ers are around what you see with the Cards currently, and they beat us. So, I'm not all that confident.

What I'm saying shouldn't be taken as confidence that we'll win. It's really hard to say because I don't think we've fixed the offensive problems that have plagued us the second half of the season, and our defense is a lot better than it has been, but I don't think it can carry us if the offense falters.

However, whoever we would have faced this week, the next week would likely be at least as tough or tougher and the next week at least as tough. So it doesn't matter to me who the opponent is. If we're going to make the Super Bowl, it's not going to be easy. Beating whomever fans think the easiest team is in the wild card and then losing to a much better team doesn't appeal to me. So I don't see the reason for the panic over us drawing the 49ers.

Great perspective by all posters. I am wondering what aspect of the team worries you the most in these playoffs? OL, DL, Db's, RB, LB's, QB, or Coach McCarthy? I'm not a Dak hater but this man just has not played well against good teams period. We will give up 20-24 points to SF no doubt. Can we score more than that, I would think so. McCarthy is another issue. Let me say this, if we lose this game and I am Jerry, I call Brian Flores in a heartbeat who had nothing in Miami and was a great Linebackers coach and DB's coach in New England and would bring some accountability to this team!

Can't see Jerry, who stuck with Garrett for 10 years, firing McCarthy even if we lose, but I would be on board with that. No more making the playoffs is enough during years when we're mainly beating up on bad teams because we played a weaker schedule.

San Francisco is a prove-it game. If he can't lead the team to victory in it, I'd be glad to see us move on and give someone else a chance.

I don't understand the concern over playing San Francisco. It doesn't matter how tough or easy the first-round opponent is, if we're going to make it to where we want to make it, we're going to have to beat some tough teams. Did some of you just want an easy draw so we would be a shoo-in to win a playoff game? That's not my target. San Francisco, Tampa Bay, Green Bay, LA, Arizona ... it doesn't matter. Getting to the Super Bowl is the goal. If we lose to the 49ers in the wild card, then it'll be pretty apparent we weren't getting there even if we had faced someone like Philly in the first round because better teams would have been waiting on us.

gimmie--- that is the ticket...bring whoever on wherever at whatever time
