Thing is....this is McCarthy's idea.....He just said it on the post game. Un freaking believable!!!!:banghead::banghead::banghead:

I honestly think he might be a Packer mole just to sabotage us....does just enough to think he's legit...then bammmmm...then it really counts. He just screws everything up.
are you saying the last play was his idea??

Yes, fire him. We need a disciplinarian like Jimmy and Parcells were.
That may be, but you will never have that as long as Jerry is alive. I used to believe Stephen would be different, but like anybody, it takes a special person to not be corrupted by the environment he’s been in the last 20 years.

Just heard McCarthy's press conference. Yeah, he is dumb as a rock and should be fired. But he won't and even if he were Jerry would just hire another Gailey/Campo/Wade/Garrett/McCarthy type coach.

More than any other league coaching matters. To coach the cowboys you need to be able to handle the pressure. to manage every situation. We don't get respect around the league. The last time we had a coach that could strike fear into opposing teams, or officials it was Bill Parcells.

If that game is not a fire-able offense, I don't know what is.

How did they develop a gameplan where Ceedee Lamb doesn't get to touch the ball? I'm so tired of the same offense we've been running since 2007.

Lamb......1 catch

Talk about a guy that didn't show up ready to play. Makes you wonder maybe this is why he slid in the draft. He just couldn't get open today...and if he did....it's 50-50 he drops it.

Imagine watching this season and voting 'no'

It's easy to vote no as an immediate reaction to this game. But just reading this forum makes me think we just turned in a 1989 Cowboys season and won 1 game. This season ended in disappointment, but 12 wins isn't insignificant. If Jones believes this team is close you give McCarthy another season but he would be on the hot seat. Now to figure out where the offensive inconsistencies are coming from.

I'm sorry, but you can't keep McCarthy after a 1st round playoff exit with what many were suspecting to be a super bowl team... the score didn't reflect how the teams looked on the field. The cowboys looked like they felt this would be a cakewalk and got the brakes beat off of them. It had a similar feel to the Broncos game. just about after EVERY big win, we came in lethargic. Same happened this game.

No. McCarthy has his flaws, but he should not be fired, especially after achieving a 12-5 record, winning the division and hosting the playoffs, especially after the horrible season last year and the coaching changes he made this past offseason.

McCarthy has earned the right to stick around on his current contract, but he definitely needs to make a few coaching (and player) changes, starting with the Oline coach.

Someone will have to pay for this crap-fest. MM is the most effective scape goat. Blame it all on him (and I acknowledge it’s certainly not all his fault)— promote DQ— and try and restore some confidence to the team.

Keeping Mike and letting DQ walk is to just shake hands with mediocrity and let it move into your house and take up residence.

Sucks to fire a 12-5 HC… but imo it is the right call to hold this franchise accountable for crapping the bed and embarrassing the team like this. We just flushed the best chance at a SB in years down the drain because we were unprepared.

MM and KM need to hit the road.
I’m glad you added KM in. Personally, I didn’t think it was a good idea to retain KM. And particularly after the justification that it maintained continuity of the offense. This offense needs a significant overhaul in concept and play-calling, not a status quo.

Big Mike failed to clean up the penalties which plagued us all season.

He needs to be held accountable.

:hammer:..............If I'm Jerry Jones tonight.....I take a hard look @ McCarthy....and about making a trip to the train station.

I just don't see how you go forward with this.....

This is as good as this team is going to get....It's not getting younger. And you got a lot of guys that may have played their last game here....

Guys I don't think you bring back.....and guys I don't think come back

T. Smith
Conner Williams
Elliott
Gregory
Anthony Brown
LVE
Hooker
Cooper
Gallup

Coordinators Quinn and Moore...both gone.

You are a lot closer to a rebuild...than a reload....And then your left with the biggest question. Is Dak the guy???? and my answer is no. :(

We probably would have been farther along if we stuck with Garrett up until now. After all, his preaching about being "perfect in everything we do" I believe was starting to effect real change. Dan Quinn really did a good job on the defense. Quinn and Garrett could have been the Starsky and Hutch of the Cowboys. ;)

MM is not great but we cannot begin to blame him for all the troubles this team faces year in and year out. We all know the real issue is at the top.
It doesn't matter if the fire MM. Jerry will still pull the strings.

yeah that wasn’t water I just threw at ya - it was a snowball and we are in hell

no way that extreme and haphazard decision process ever happens - maybe MM is gone
And maybe just maybe a couple of those names
But that type of a fire sale just ain’t happening
