You can honestly say that he was the best safety in the game in the 90’s.3x all pro, 5 x pro bowler, 3 time Superbowl winner. He may have been the the most important member of the 90’s D. LB size w/ CB speed.Could cover anybody on the field and tackle like nobody else.If John Lynch is a HOFer, how is Woodson not? Simply mind-boggling.

Drew Pearson after retiring in 1983, waited nearly 40 years to hear that he’d been elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Unfortunately, Woodson becomes the next Dallas Cowboys star that is feeling the burn. Hopefully he'll still be alive when he does get in.

This is why we have the RoH. There are so many past Cowboys deserving of the HoF that will be waiting for a long time if ever.

Very difficult getting in the Hall of Fame as a safety. It took years for Jerry just to put him in the ROH. Great player for the Cowboys but a borderline Hall of Fame player. Not sure he’ll ever get in.

Because the same people who are the selection committee/voters for the HOF also pick the All-Decade teams, and they thought that a washed up Ronnie Lott who only played the first half of the decade merited a spot on that team over Woodson. That glaring oversight will likely keep him out.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame is a lot more exclusive than a teams ROH. The Cowboys ROH was originally created to honor the players that helped pave the way for the Cowboys success. If it was up to Cowboys fans at least 50% of the players that played for the organization would be in the Hall of Fame. Some of the Cowboys that get mentioned for the Hall of Fame on this board are pretty laughable. The most ridiculous name that’s come up by fans for the HOF is Dale Hellestrea who was a deep snapper. Lol

Very worthy

no doubt

HOF is tough though

see how long it took Drew. Still say those losses to the Stealers hurt a couple of them.

Those two losses to the Steelers in the 70s definitely hurt some of our Cowboys players chances at the Hall of Fame. Their players were getting most of the Hall of Fame inductions. Had Drew Pearson had the MVP Super Bowl performance Lynn Swann had in Super Bowl X he would’ve been in the Hall of Fame a long time ago.

If Zach Thomas can get nominated then I don't know why the hell Woodson can't.

Hey while they're at it why don't they nominate Dexter Coakley too.

These are the safeties who are in the HoF as listed by position:

Jack Christiansen
Brian Dawkins
Bobby Dillion
Kenny Easley
Cliff Harris
Ken Houston
Paul Krause
Yale Lary
Ronnie Lott (CB-S)
John Lynch (FS)
Troy Polamalu
Ed Reed
Mel Renfro (CB-S)
Johnny Robingson
Donnie Shell
Emien Tunnell
Roger Wehrli
Aeneas Williams (CB-S)
Larry Wilson
Willie Wood
Rod Woodson
Steve Atwater

A few of these names will only be known by guys my age or older.

I think there are two factors that are keeping him out. One is his relatively low interception total of 23. The second is that while his five-year peak was fantastic, the rest of his career is more ordinary. Do I think he is a better player than some in the Hall? Yes I do. But I don't vote. Off the top of my head, players I would take over Woodson are Reed, Polamalu, Dawkins, Wehrli, Lott. He is even with Lynch.

That's who i thought of also. Hope he doesn't have to wait as long as Drew did. But its looking like that may be the case.
