So much for Jermaine Johnson at 24

kingsley enagbare,de-s carolina might be in play at 24 if they go DE.
he's got those long arms DQ looks for.

  1. Jermaine Johnson II will hear his name called early in the draft.

After a standout 2021 term at Florida State, logging 17.5 tackles for loss and 11.5 sacks, Johnson carried that momentum to Hancock Whitney Stadium Tuesday.

Joe Marino of The Draft Network had a glowing assessment of Johnson's reps.

"Florida State EDGE Jermaine Johnson dominated #SeniorBowl practice today just like he did all season long for the Noles," he tweeted.

Jon Ledyard of Pewter Report captured a one-on-one drill in which Johnson used speed, power and good hand placement to drive his opponent backward. With leverage and force, he easily won the rep.

Jim Nagy posted video of a one-on-one drill between Johnson and Kentucky's Darian Kinnard, who according to Pro Football Focus' Austin Gayle had a strong outing. The former Seminole finished the rep with authority, putting the 6'5", 345-pound offensive tackle on his back.

By the end of the week, analysts and scouts may firmly place Johnson in the first round of their draft boards.

Did anyone of you watch the practices on ESPN?

Johnson had like 5 good ones and the rest where kinnard by far. Kinnard gets exposed by speed not power and his hands not being higher leave him exposed to first step burst

Go watch you will see

Johnson is tak McKinley

Takk was a linear athlete on tape and then had a bad 3 cone to confirm it. Shouldn’t have been drafted in the first.

Don’t see that with JJ but if he has an abysmal 3 cone I’ll definitely cool off on him.

His speed power looks just like him.
Takk and him look almost the same.

His 3 cone will tell it all.
It just looks like he wide angles His launch and that's how he reminds me of takk

That’s fine but that’s only 1 rush move…based on the tape I see much more ankle and hip flexibility in his ability to bend the edge which is something I didn’t really see with Takk.

Go back and watch Takk looked exactly the same on tape but when the combine came around he was exposed

I don’t need to…I remember him clearly as a prospect bc he was so highly talked about on these boards. I was never a fan because he lacked bend around the edge and then the 3 cone confirmed that.

I don’t have that concern with Johnson at all pre-combine. If you see it differently - to each their own.

I think the least impressive thing about Johnson is his ability to bend. But he checks a lot of boxes.
