It’s frustrating because I don’t think ceedee is ready to be a #1. Then on Lawrence, I’d rather have Greggory I think because he really came on this year and I still wonder if you can trust Greggory.
To me you absolutely have to draft a DE early. Then I’d be looking at RB and LB ahead of WR, but if they lose Schultz too that’s a couple big hits to the passing game. Plus they still could use a new starter or 2 on the OL. Dallas is going to have to make some tough decisions.
Gregory is a pass rusher only. He'll occasionally make a good run stop, but not often. And a really good De stonewalls him.
I'm afraid he missed too many games with the suspensions. Physically playing in the NFL requires keeping a finetuned body, that has regular competitive game time. Miss too much time and seldom can a player get to the level he once was, or in Gregory's case, the player he was supposed to be.
I could be wrong, never played pro football, but we've seen players try to come back after extensive layoffs and they're just never the same player.
Lawrence isn't a flashy player. Too many look at players like TJ Watt and ooh and ahh over his sack stats, but I suspect if Lawrence was totally dedicated to sacks only he'd have a lot more. A top DE contains the edge and controls the end runs, which Lawrence does very well, imho.
Would like to keep both, but Gregory will likely command too much money, that's probably not going to happen, to me he's not worth top DE $$$$....
