I don't want to defend Jerry. Can't stand the guy, but players ultimately have the ball in their hands and can win despite Jerry. Let me rag on Mahomes. His defense put him in impossible position to win against Buffalo, but he did it. Then he choked against the Bengals. That's on him. He has to own that.
Dak has had opportunities. I don't mind failure. Everyone fails. Everyone. But winners eventually win. They typically consistently compete at the highest levels. They may fall short, but they are in contention consistently.
There is a big difference between Dak and Mahomes. We are arguing (wish we were just debating) whether Mahomes is elite or not. The difference between the 2 is substantial. Mahomes has accomplished way more and I consider Dak having the benefit of the better overall talent around him on average for their careers. If Mahomes isn't elite, I can't even justify Dak being top 10 and that's where I would put him in every year. Dak was trending top 5 earlier this year until the slump. But there is a large gap between Mahomes and Dak. That gap to me was Mahomes is elite and Dak is top 10 type QB. If Mahomes isn't elite, Dak falls considerably, regardless of the number of sorry QBs he's better than. He's just a better JAG than the other JAGs.
