Cherry picking or not, the point is obvious. . U can find an effective back in any round of the draft. Every RB is replaceble. This is cherry picking 101. Rookie contracts, trades, cuts etc. That being said I would not pay Zeke what he's being paid vs an OL.
The Rams should give us hope. They severely overpaid a RB in Gurley, who was useless in the Superbowl. And were still able to get back in a few years. The key is they weren't afraid to take risk, cut there losses and upgrade when opportunity presented itself.
"Who needs to go to the SB when we can overpay our RB?"
Multi tasking……yeah but our RB can wear his hair in Pom Poms and jump in a Salvation Army Kettle
Jonathan Taylor by far the best RB in the NFL this season, the Colts didn't make the playoffs.
You just don't need STUD running backs to win in the NFL. Any NCAA starting RB will work, just get that 4.0 a carry that is all it takes. Defense and a stud QB is NFL football.
The Titans didn't lose a beat when Henry went down, as we know he was the best....so what
Yes ya try and keep a Jonathan Taylor to a point but most the others it's just one contract then ya get another rookie.
Around 800 colleges play football. most have at least 4 RB's, that is a lot of RB's. No problems finding them
Yep! The Cowboys are always late to move on things though. Tyrons replacement should have been drafted 2 years ago. If he randomly stays healthy then great! You have depth. If he doesn't you can now start his replacement and move on from him and maybe even trade him for a pick since he's still good just not always available. The Cowboys did the same thing with Romo. A replacement should have been drafted in the 2015 season (I'm talking a high 3rd or late 2nd rounder) because he already showed signs of being injury prone the 2 previous seasons with that serious back injury in 13 which led to issues in 14. What happened in 15 was in excusable because they knew he was already injury prone and would not practice (Wednesdays I think it was). Dlaw was great in 17 and 18. But what's been done to support that? Nothing. Aaron Donald is a generational talent and makes impact plays. But if you notice what made the difference is that he had a secondary guy in Von Miller (well throw Floyd in there too). Since DLaw is an outside guy, what interior presence have the cowboys drafted or signed in free agency?I'm like you cut our loses.. Get rid of players not producing.. Zeke, Dlaw and Tyron...
I bet there are people in here that believe Zeke is better…
I wish Charlotte was in charge…Stephen is a clown. Fine you draft him say because of Romo…dumb reason because who drafts a RB that high, but okay…to double down on a hold out when performance wise given his early years o-line, you could plug so many alternatives in and imho be fine, is silly. The add jaylon to the top….
But jerseys sell…
agree with the premise. For several years the Front offices didn’t draft RB’s in the first round for that very reason but then they slid back into it…..the only exception has to be a guy like Derrick Henry where that team is rushing over 500 times a season….money well spent on him
My issue lies with the Front Office. Zeke did the right thing by holding out after seeing what the Cowboys wisely did to Demarco Murray. They ran him into the ground and then didn't resign him. The Cowboys pounded Zeke and I wonder if he would have been resigned to what he wanted had he gotten hurt? Doubtful. The other issue I have with the Cowboys is taking Zeke 4th. If there was not an Oline, Dline or QB that warranted that pick then you trade down get multiple high picks and get another Olineman, Dlineman or QBZeke was never better than Taylor even as NCAAers. Zeke should be ashamed of himself for what he did, I'd feel guilty.
