I don't like it either. The wild card game showed me that our defense was anything but playoff caliber. All you have to do is look at how we let the 49s just march down the field on multiple scoring drives. Garoppolo looked like Tom Brady as we let them build a lead that their strong defense was able to protect. Of all the playoff games I watched our defense looked the worst.
I agree with you a 100% about the defense but we have to admit the offense ( Kellen, Dak, Zeke, and the offensive line) completely melted down throughout the game. If Dak and Zeke were free agents after that performance they would be looking for new homes right now.
Dak was terrible but I think they're going to double down with him. Overall our offense was bad but I give the 49s defense some of the credit, they played very well in the playoffs against the Packers and Rams after they played us.
Dak will the quarterback for the foreseeable future no doubt but I guarantee there are members of Jones family that have questions. Dak better step up next season because he will not have any more excuses.
Dont think you really need both of them. Parsons is probably coming down on most passing plays, so your other starter ar DE is a more nominal role. Probably similar to Crawford in 2018, where you play DE on run downs and either kick inside or go off the field on passing. Golston could probably handle that
