Don’t know if the combine really did anything to separate the top 5 or 6 guys who could all be 2nd/3rd round picks? Still going to be preference/team fit it seems.
Not saying he’s going to be a stud TE1, but Austin Allen from Nebraska is very intriguing. Could be a guy we can draft in the late 4th and pencil in as a very useful TE2 for years. 6’8 255 and his 7 flat 3 cone was best among TE’s and would have been 3rd for the WR group. Slow plodder off the line, but surprising fluid and athletic in space with reliable hands. Like seemingly all college TE’s, his blocking technique sucks, but the size, strength, and willingness is there to think he will develop well as an inline blocker.
