Twitter: Ed Werder: Expect Quinn to pursue Wagner

Has Wagner been doing hard drugs or has he been beating up strippers at the strip club? Has his talent fallen through the floor? If not, he's not the kind of guy we pursue in free agency.

Dallas has been notoriously cheap at punter for years. They extended McBriar and Chris Jones, but both of their MAX cap hits were around $2 million.

really maybe you have selective memory i mean regardless of what we thought of JS he got paid well, Sean lee got paid well, jerry will pay players that is at least known to be or close to a Pro bowl level type and most of those have been on that offensive side of the ball. Just happenstance if a defender shows upside jerry pays them,..all of them. Remember Brandon carr? Ware? Dlaw, smith, lee others as well. lmao jerry never pays defense huh? I guarantee when Parsons and Diggs come up they will get big deal from Jerry.

funny a has been 31yr old LB is now a coveted player??! you remember Earl Thomas umm he was done jerry was smart not to go after him like 90% of the fans wanted not at that contract he was demanding IE a legacy last deal type contract teams overpay..

we got that other bennet what did he do here? LOB are all give and most should have retired if they have already. this should be a cheap FA SJ should low ball Bob and if Quinn can help that great but paying this dude his legacy contract would be stupid.

if they wanted him, they could, but Stephen runs the team like an accountant. he has a spreadsheet, with limits on how much he will go for each position and that's what he does.......

and that all wagner is worth, why overpay the guy..jeez fans just luv our own allegedly overpaid players now you want to bring in another?

That said, I don't think there is any real chance they will spend what it would take to get Wagner. They don't shell out that kind of money for outside free agents.

Was talking about geting blue chip defensive free agents, "broken down" Carr not withstanding

Overpaying our own players, as you mentioned, has been established here for a long time
 
The more I think about it the more I like the idea.

I noticed that he negotiates his contracts himself, so we won't have an agent swaying him to the highest bidder.....he has already made his money....so it will probably come down to if Quinn can talk him into coming here.

Id guess his value is about 2/18-22 with most guaranteed. Not sure if we can fit that in but I promise you all that money would have been MUCH better spent on Wagner and his leadership than a TE who does nothing especially well.

most of those Bluechip like Carr was at the time he was regarded as that are mirages, they aren't blue-chip at all we see it more times than not the overpaid feeding frenzy week one of FA most are as big failures as 1qst round qbs..

BTW Wagner not blue chip at all hes an aging player being cut and will want legacy deal..NE spent ton on FA and they were one and done in the payoffs..beluev me for entrainment, hope, and excitement, i hope for one every now and then here but its no guarantee at all. I mean they tried this with Bennett, Poe, aldon smith, quinn and some others most are just done..names don't win, paper champions in FA isnt something to brag about.

whos the can't miss blue-chip defender in this offseason whos free and hot right now all i saw the last 48hrs are either teams resigning their guys cutting them or overspending for qbs..whos the FA you speak of? whos the cant miss go after defender out there this moment?
