Yes, 19 haas some of the sickest routes in the game. No doubt. The guy disappears when it’s crunch time and his attitude sucks. He is a “me first” instead of a team guy. The FO found that out too late in the game or thought he would change with the contract. Well that didn’t happen and here we are. His production did not constitute $20,000,000 a year. Sorry.

Good chess player, not a game changing WR. And definitely would not put it all on the line for his teammates.

Best of luck in Cleveland.

I think the disappointment is not at Cooper being traded. It is the compensation we got in return. We gave up a 1st round pick for him and got a 5th in return. And I expect the Browns will be in or near the playoffs so it is not going to be a high 5th round pick either. I would not have traded him for less than a 2nd. I don't care that other teams are scared by his contract. After acquiring him they are free to restructure his deal and reduce his CAP. He is young and still has 3 years on his deal. People keep telling me what a great player Cooper is. If so, why just a 5th round pick?

The Borwn don't have to worry about Cooper's bonus so he costs them only $20 million a year. Hand him a restructure bonus of $12 million and his CAP number goes down to $13 million in 2022.If he doesn't perform, the Browns can cut him in 2023 and still get a $10 million CAP save on his pre-restructure CAP number. This is what Dallas could have done but clearly their CAP situation pushed them into a bad trade.

I'm a little surprised that more people don't see that after he was acquired for a 1st, he was given a 100 million dollar deal, developed foot problems, and aged three years.

That tends to make assets depreciate.

Has anyone gone to the Browns sites or seen any articles on what they think of this trade.
They get a great deal in pick value vs picking up his cap costs.

Silly boy!
Let us say we lose Cedric to FA.
That leaves us with an inconsistent Lamb and Gallup as Nos. 1 and 2.
What if an injury strikes?
That leaves the remaining WR with double teams and ... tell me again who backs Lamb and Gallup?

I doubt that even matters to Browns fans until Baker is gone.

See too many people expecting Gallup back. I'll be suprised if he comes back. It's going to cost a min of 12 mil per year. Most likely more.

You know why this is, right? The team does not win. Bottom line.

Look, me lad, Jerry and Stevie would not have let Cooper go without a guarantee Gallup will re-sign.

It doesn’t matter what Cleveland does next year in regards to play off seeding. The draft picks are for this draft not next year. Dallas gets the 12th pick in the 5th round and the 14th pick in the 6th round for Cooper and the 23rd pick in the 6th round.

As far as compensation goes we should be happy we got anything for him. Reports say that the Browns were the only team willing to take on his $20 million salary. In fact, I post on Eagles’ forum because I have a couple of friends that are Eagles’ fans. (Long story). Anyway, fans on that forum have been saying all week that no team would be stupid enough to give anything up for Cooper to take on that $20 million contract. They were.shocked we got a 5th.

Also, I went to a Browns’ forum and most seemed very lukewarm about the acquisition. Most don’t think Cooper justifies the cap hit.

This place was singing a different tune on Amari after running Dez out of town. :muttley: Now he’s a me first guy just like yall said Dez was

My thoughts as well. He never struck me as a me first kind of guy. He's quiet, goes about his business, and really doesn't complain much at all. We never saw AC causing drama with the media or getting into screaming matches on the sideline. If DAK couldn't handle the little heat AC did apply, he doesn't deserve to lead this team. We just saw this team misuse their Ace on offense and cut him as a scapegoat. Getting harder and harder to accept what this FO is doing. JJ and SJ need to hire a GM and disappear on their giant yacht asap.
