All I hear from Jerry and his genius son is cap cap cap…..and that’s why we always sign all these third rate scrubs or a hurt guy on a one year contract ….
So how do the Rams manage to sign and trade for all these expensive pro bowlers and future hall of fame players ….
Is the Rams cap bigger than ours????
No their cap isn't bigger. (Of course you know that, I recognize tongue-in-cheek comments).
But that just shows (again) what I and other have said - there is no such thing as "cap hell" in the sense of "we can't pay player $X and still have a competitive team. We hear team such and such is $50 mil over the cap, and still have to sign this player and that player, and it's "woe is they".
Then they restructure, release a player or two and bingo! Their qb or wr or such gets a record contract and most of their other free agents are signed.
The cap is huge, and it's complicated. Not to say a team can't completely screw up things and have cap problems, but that's rare, there are procedures and such that are well known in the league, all teams have the same tools, it's more a matter of what they want to do as far as winning now or winning later.
The success of their draft, especially rounds 3-4-5 that make the difference. Get a Brady in the 6th round, or find a Larry Allen or Darren Woodson or such and all of a sudden your draft evaluator is a genius and SB wins result.
Blaming the cap for your troubles is a cop out....
