The conferences are split into separate columns.
yeah, saw that...but not sure what to make of it. I mean Daniel Jones and Grapolo are better than Brady, Rodgers and Mahomes...so I take this with a grain of salt....still I rather Dak was higher on the list.

whats amazing about that stat is that Dak lovers will claim that Stafford is a bum and that Dak is better than him. Brah.. when the Rams need him to keep the drive going the most, did he ever. Even if they dont score on that drive they keep their defense off the field for another set of downs. When they do score after Stafford keeps a drive going after a 3rd and 8+ that sways the momentum of a game so much.
He's amazing...

Point out who said Stafford is a bum, good God, there's plenty to criticize Dak about without making things up.
I think most fans understand that without a decent surrounding most QBs are mediocre.

Can you refresh my memory on what your handle was before you changed it?

Stafford has been called a bum on this forum for years.

Looking at the QBs who completed less than 10 3rd and 8+ for the season-

Baker Mayfield 9/47
Davis Mills 9/54
Andy Dalton 7/27
Jalen Hurts 9/38
Justin Fields 7/35
Jared Goff 9/54
Dak Prescott 7/46

I forget which game it was.... maybe Thanksgiving.

The broadcast team was going on about the Cowboys #1 offense, flashing all the relevant stats, then they got to the one being talked about here. They were dead last in 3rd and... I believe they said 5, but it could have been 7.

You've got to pretty naive to not understand the QB is the driving force behind that, and you absolutely can't give him a pass on that, then turn around and call him clutch.

He's craptastically bad against good teams in meaningful games.

Period. If you can't see it, I don't know what to tell you and don't care.

Only a few of the Dak blind left here......and by the end of this coming season, they will be a rare commodity indeed.....:omg:
The cat is out of the Bag Dak Zombies and nothing you post here will alter what our fans are viewing on the Gridiron!!!

What is your issue with guys that just find ways to perform when it matters most?

Are you so conditioned to watching bums like Dak and Romo that you forgot what a guy performing when the lights are the brightest look like and you now resent it? You seem to care much more about what their stats look like at the end of the year instead of where they lead their team.
Nice to see someone who agrees with me on Romo! He was a pretender….just like Dak! Don’t get me wrong, I think he was better than Dak but in no way a top caliber QB.

Weird how you need all these other factors to contextualize this stat but others are taken at face value, i.e. completion percentage.

It's not a stat about how they got to 3rd and long. It's a stat saying how many times they converted 3rd and long. Dak converted third and long the same amount of times as Justin Fields but had more attempts to do it.
Where's the context then?
I'm saying it's meaningless for ANY QB as I've already illustrated. If a play gets called back on 3rd down, is that considered?
And attempting to signal a comparison with Fields is just laughable.
Lmao

Laugh all you want. It's the truth.

Do any other QBs get more context or is that just reserved for the guy at the bottom of the list? Andy Dalton only converted 7, too. Granted he had almost 20 less tries.

Dak does his job. He's good enough to get the Cowboys to the playoffs about half the time or more and he gives Jerry something to sell. We saw what the Cowboys looked like when he got injured in 2020; a losing record in the regular season. Which was their first since Dak became the starter.

But that's his job. Keep the Cowboys relevant in the regular season. I don't thing anybody really believes he is capable of helping the Cowboys get to a NFCCG anymore. Do they?

If that is what somebody is telling you, they are most likely trying to sell you something.

I don't know if it matters who the QB of the Cowboys is. They'll find someway to screw it up.

Except Joe Burrow, who got to a Super Bowl (and almost won) behind possibly the worst offensive line in all of football. So there’s that.
I will give you that Burrows line was pretty bad but I believe he is a bit more skilled and a faster processor than Dak

Thought you guys might have something to say about this.

Dak was the worst QB in the NFL on 3rd and 8+ last year. A whopping 7/46, 15.2%.

Looking at the QBs who completed less than 10 3rd and 8+ for the season-

Baker Mayfield 9/47
Davis Mills 9/54
Andy Dalton 7/27
Jalen Hurts 9/38
Justin Fields 7/35
Jared Goff 9/54
Dak Prescott 7/46
Where does he rank in 3rd & medium and 3rd & short? Oh that's right, Dak being in the top 10 doesn't fit yalls narrative so you didn't post it, cool...

Oh btw this is a flimsy arse stat to judge any qb on.

If Dak played for any other team you would say he was an average talent who can't get the job done when the game is on the line. You only defend him like you do because he wears the star on his helmet.

Don't deny it....

Stinking arse Wentz didn't even make this crappy list, and that dude is a full blown bag of suckage.

I literally just got done saying "ANY QB." It's a meaningless statistic for any QB. That's why no one that collects data considers it useful on it's own. There's plenty to criticize Prescott on. This is just flimsy.
