If you had it to do all over with Romo and Dak in 2016

They had a great running game as well as a healthy O line, so I can see why fans think Romo would have done better. I wanted him to win big games in the worst way, he just never really did and then couldn't stay on the field. I imagine the staff and team preferred to roll with the hot hand.

Do you STILL want us to win big games? That we never have. You wanted Romo gone for that but not Dak?

So you think it was a fair competition?

And you agree we should run this team by way of superstition. "Oh don't mess with Dak's streak". That's like playing poker or roulette. a STUPID way to run a business.

If we had such a great running game and healthy o-line...why couldn't we get a playoff run?

You guys are so illogical with your opinions. They just don't make any sense. And this is okay...just stop acting like they do.

I hear you.

But the last 2 home PLAYOFF games Romo played in

  • Dallas won both games
  • He threw for about 550 yards
  • 4 TDs
  • 0 Int
Both of those wins were vs way better defenses that what Green Bay has in 2016.

I get it. But when he went down in preseason I think that was just too much to gamble on further. I honestly think Romo was ready to call it a day and decided to hang it up. I can't imagine after what he put his body through over the years.

As good as Romo looked in that drive in the Eagles game that should of been more of a reason to keep searching for a QB instead of settling for Dak. It was better though that Romo not play anymore because he could of been seriously injured.

i liked this part
Jones said this week his deadline for moving on from Romo is not until training camp starts (late July/early August). Perhaps there is some impatience growing from Romo’s end. There have been a couple of leaks recently about his discontent with the Cowboys franchise.

If people have the right read on the situation, Jones and his false piety are firebombing bridges with a quarterback who’s bled silver and blue for a decade and should be considered a Cowboy for life, all because it might get his team the 180th pick in the draft. It’s almost as if Jones is nudging Romo toward retirement and the announcing booth, a kind of “If I can’t have him, you can’t either.”

guess it worked !

from another article on that page
According to an NFL Network report, Romo was hurt over the “Team Dak” that formed in Dallas and “has distanced himself” from the teammates and coach who backed his successor.
The way Jerry treated Room was disgusting. . . He WOULDNT let him compete for His Job . . . then He WOULDNT out right release Him . . . allowing Romo to choice His destination and get acclimated with the New Team . . . Which more then likely had been the Texans (Would have killed Jerry) or Broncos . . . Both had monster defenses that year and some talented young WRs.

Luckily He was offered the #1 broadcasting job . . . rest his history after Jerry continued to yank his chain and hold him hostage

I was so happy for him to have an out. Only thing I regret was Romo was denied an opportunity to win a Championship in 2016 with Cowboys and in 2017 with Texans

Because that's all Jack Offs and Idiots can say about that great QB a real leader and Gentlemen

This thread sums up how sad this franchise has become. Arguing over hypotheticals that will NEVER happen and was 6 years ago. And it is up to 19 pages. Not going to read one single reply as I want to keep the brain cells I have remaining. About as sad as discussing a single play in a divisional round playoff game from 8 years ago.
2016 is when this franchise became sad over the idiocy and moronic decision and beliefs of any one who didnt admit it then and still will not admit it now . . . THAT ROMO SHOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN HIS STARTING JOB BACK.

We waited too long for that dumb **** to be the decision.

Yea and they got him out of the game so fast so he couldn't get hit. It was all fake. The guy was done. If he still had it, he would have beat out Dak easily. He didn't even try to go to another team and no other team was that interested in him. They knew.
They got Him out of the Game to prevent a QB controversy

You Don t have to imagine . . . thats what they did

What they were imagining in 2016 was the Birth of the Next great QB Superstar . . . and to prove they were right . . . They paid. School yard QB with 1 leg like He was a Super Star

Complete Insanity

I'll repost this because some just don't understand

They believe Romo was done and what proved it was he didnt join another team which somehow proves he was done which proves why he retired because . . . One More Hit He was gonna die

These people actually believed no one wanted Romo after all these years . . . they keep telling themselves this lie.

The Texans & Broncos wanted Him . . . 2 Championship defenses with great Wrs and Rbs

It's hilarious that you have such faith in Dak after his dismal performance in the playoffs against the 49ers. Oh wait, it takes a team to win? huh. If the 07 and 14 teams had actually had a defense that could make a stop then maybe Romo might have done better too. Dak has the same struggles Romo did. The team failed to perform when it mattered most.
Exactly my point fak put up over 30 points and still lost. Unless romo played on defense or was a referee it didnt matter which qb played in 2016.

You're right.
He wanted to play so bad and he was still so good he retired. Then, jerry caused him to talk on TV.
