So Jerry and Stephen think they are NFL GMs that are capable of building a team, evaluating talent, signing free agents and everything that involves building a championship roster

Besides being billionaires what makes them believe they can do this?

30 years of history is in the books now…
I've never been a fan of Jerry as GM, however......

Like it or not, Jerry has more experience as an NFL GM than almost anyone in the league....and he also has more of an actual football-playing resume than many (or even most).

Their 30 year record does include about 16 years of playoff appearances and 3 Super Bowl wins

Or to see that they went 12 and 5 last year and picked Parsons with the 12th pick.
And have huge holes in their team because they are absolutely horrific in picking after the 1st round. The 2nd round picks they're wasting year after year after year should be part of the core of our team.

Because they are billionaires and own the team so they get to play with their toy.
Yeah Jerry didn't react well when he had to share the toy with Johnson or Parcells lol.

So...now we get what we get on the sidelines.

But the biggest factor that made those championships possible is gone. Surely, they see they’ve struggled, a bit, to fill that role over these years.

Jerry hired the biggest factor that made those championships. The second coach he hired won a championship despite the fact it was mainly with Jimmy’s players. The Joneses have been on top of the mountain three times with two different head coaches and will always believe they can do it again regardless how many years go by.

They weren't part of it.

They were part of it, they made the hires and signed off on all the decisions that were made. You continue walking around with blinders on.

why? Because no one to date, has walked up to their faces and told them they aren't. They are surrounded by sycophants and yes men. Fear of reprisal is 1 big reason. The echo chamber in Frisco is real. Just listen to guys like Mike Fisher, Mickey Spagnola. They are exhibit 1.

yeah and they want the Jerry bucks to keep flowing so they can keep their company car,gas card and make that house payment. Its very simple. King Jerry is real. Stevie is taking over as well. Jerry is just handing the Kings Crown to him and nuthin will change.

Don't see a lot of that.

What I see are good, knowledgeable fans wishing we had a competent GM.

You don’t see a lot of things. A majority of fans think they can run the team better than the Joneses.

Guys, truthfully..we have 2 GM's. Its a 2 headed monster. Will McClay is 1, and Stevie is the other. Jerry these days is just a guy that breaks any tie breakers if need be. Make 0 mistake, Will McClay has a HUGE say in what we do. Problem is, Cap Boy runs the financial end of things and THAT gets in the way.

It really doesn't matter why. The NFL is a government sponsored practical monopoly with a national fan base. It earns guaranteed money every year due to television contracts that amount to several billion dollars. Unlike in any other business where financial success is primarily dependent upon the quality of product or services that the it produces with respect to the competition, this dependency doesn't really apply to the NFL because the winning or losing of one team has an insignificant impact on that entire profit margin which is split evenly among teams. Even for a team as popular as the Cowboys, because although the organization has the most fans in the NFL, it also has the most haters. So it's a break even kind of thing.

This means that unlike Jerry's oil business, where there are many other competitors, how he runs the business has no effect on his bottom line. So he can suck *** or win gloriously and it won't make a huge difference on the latter. Maybe somewhat of a dent in his merchandise sales for the extremes due to sucking or kicking ***, but that variation probably still pales in comparison to the magnitude of television revenue. And as long as he can tease winning somewhat that will continue.

And collapsed in their first round playoff game at home…and went 6-0 against putrid NFE teams to pad their 12-5 record, while having a losing record against winning teams…and did not plan but were forced to pick Parsons when they let the 2 Corners they wanted get picked ahead of them by other teams…
