That's what they are doing. Making excuses. The thug is as guilty as the shooter himself. He was a part of the group that attacked the young man, was in the vehicle and made no attempt to stop the shooting, actually went on living his life with a big smile everyday for the past month, and he would have gotten away with it if the police investigative team had not started figuring them murderous thugs out.

I ask because I do not know all the details, but have the names of the other people in the car come out? Who are they?

Is Joseph in danger for ratting on his friends?
I don't know why it's a foregone conclusion that he snitched.

How do we know the whole crew didn't work it out for someone else to take the fall so Joseph could still earn NFL money at least?

What I DONT think will happen is they all point fingers at each other publicly. The attorney speaking publicly and tells me that story is already ironed out.

Well two people were arrested the day after he talked to the police for two hours. 1+1=2 Yeah your theory is possible but if Joseph did not wear that necklace they would have gotten away with it.

Meh..so you can argue intent all you want. Randomly firing a gun from a moving vehicle is sufficiently bad enough to warrant significant charges and does not change the fact that he didnt report it. These were his homies from LA...he knew who they were and where they were. His silence makes him an accomplice.
Again, I am not justifying or downplaying anyone's actions. I am just speculating on the circumstances. I don't even know where, or how many times the victim was hit.

I do know that being accurate with a handgun, shooting at a moving target, from a moving vehicle, at that distance takes a heck of a lot of training and skill. You can even see a few ricochets within a few feet of the vehicle.

I'm not giving anyone a pass due to intent. He who fires the bullet, owns the bullet.

As far as I'm concerned, based on what I have seen, everyone in that vehicle is a scumbag and is complicit in a murder. Intentional or not.

Then the team or league is holding him accountable. Regardless of whether or not he gets any type of legal action taken against him, if this turns out to be what it seems like, he should be ousted from the NFL.

There would have to be some new information to make me think he was blameless.
I'm probably taking a harder stand then most. I'm just sick and tired of gangster and apologies for it.

After finally breaking down and reading on this mess.....as far as a league suspension, the only other precedent is Ray Lewis.

Only problem is that a court of law and the court of Goodell are two very different things.

I just don't know if it's a good look for the league to suspend him for like, six games.....basically saying that Joseph was 'sort of' involved in a murder, and missing six games is justice.

I can see him avoiding suspension entirely as the league claims to have found no wrongdoing or whatever....that or he is gone forever.

Anyone wanna bet me?

Vinmo?

My money is on the guy in the fight video throwing punches like a drunk woman is not KJ. The logo on the sweatshirt and the chain match the elevator video though.

I think the guy that threw the first punches in that video is more likely to be KJ than "drunk punches" guy. Why? Those punches looked more NFL than the drunkards punches.......and if there is any truth to rumors that KJ was the guy that got into it with Ray or Rays group first....why not throw punches first?

I dont have an answer for the change in clothing unless KJ took off his chain and sweater and gave it to a homie because he knew he was getting into a brawl soon. But that doesnt account for the dark colored pants/shorts the guy that threw the first punches is wearing either. The elevator video makes it look like KJ is wearing light colored everything.

Do we even know if KJ ever even threw a punch?

Can anyone tell me where or how "being gangsta" helps KJ? Like...is it just for street cred or does some Ferry/Angel come contact you and offer you good paying gigs for being so gangsta? Like...do you get to push more weight because you gangsta? Do you scare people into giving you money? I dont get how killing people for nothing helps you. Does offing Ray make you more money somehow?

for wearing the star and his alliance is the gangster life style. screw tolerances

Im sure even if he's not charged he'll need to satisfy the FO as to his version of events and what's going to happen moving forward. I actually think once the legal ramifications have ended he should be judged by his fellow players, if he's on a team it's them that he'll need to prove his worth.

I doubt that zero tolerance and making an example is going to have any effect (see Zeke, Dez, Gregory).

Some of these comments about whether he tried to stop someone (be it physically or verbally) are easy to accuse from behind a keyboard....if he instigated or even encouraged (proof needed) the shooting then yes he's guilty......but as yet there's no evidence to support this and all of these 'guilty verdicts' are based on pure speculation (at the moment) based on what's in front of us.

I have to wonder, if he was a shut down corner last year, would people in here be talking about his character? Or whether or not to cut him? Or would it be like Zeke?

Also keep in mind that attorneys are a lot like ballplayers.....some are just better than others.

Sometimes its frustrating technicality that defies the moral truth, sometimes it's a relationship with a prosecutors office....and on down the line.

The attorney divulging key info, presumably to protect Joseph in the court of public opinion, tells me he/she/they are quite confident he won't even be charged.

But again, that slick 750 an hour law firm ain't gonna matter when he is sent for by Park Ave.

The suspension will basically come down to whatever Goodells PR advisors tell him will play best publicly.

My understanding is that he's more respected by others in the genre, for being "real", and as such is accepted by the fans.

A couple reasons might be...

We are what we came from. If that is the environment he came up in, that is what he knows. It is very difficult to overcome that. You would think a guy like KJ would have it easier than most since his talent opened doors that most never see.

The heat of the moment. I doubt there was much reasoning going on.

Ok. I see some posters say the players will not want him in locker room because he did not inform the police immediately. I think the players could care less. If Joseph can cover that is all the players are worried about.

My stance is this: If KJ doesn't go to jail, that's fine. He FINALLY did the right thing even if it took him a month and police pressure. I hope he turns his life around and realizes that his posse was a chain around his neck and not a support group...that being said I want him off the team. He's definitely guilty of conduct detrimental to the team and the league and his character and conduct are not what this team needs.

Let him be some other team's headache if they even want to take a chance on him assuming the league takes no action. The team's culture needs to change for it to actually do something in playoffs and his dismissal would be a good start. It's sort of sickening that players that pull stuff like this are still allowed to play.

It's also sickening when some fans cite the actions of players who did worse as some kind of defense for why KJ should be allowed to play. Two wrongs don't make a right. It's not like it's condemning KJ to prison or even a terrible life if the Cowboys cut him. It's just sending a message that this kind of thing won't be tolerated.
Im sorry but if the young man did not commit a crime he should be able to still make a living. He should not be able to play football because ppl he hung out with a man who shot somebody? I hung out with people in my early 20s that committed crimes should my job fire me now?

The players could 1000% care less. A good portion of them can relate in terms of knowin ppl like KJ's friends back home or even in college.

What do you think Roger is gonna do?

See what I wrote above about the middle ground of like a six game suspension.

I dont see how they do that and have it play well publicly.

I see it as a very long time or nothing at all. Something is telling me I'm missing a key point on that idea.

Hes getting suspended. I think for half the season or longer. He was still on video in a street fight.

I mean...if thats the case you have to cut him. If he truly has a "real" stigma attached to him...that means senseless brawls or shootings will continue to hover around him.

I also assume if he is "real"...he is so real he aint gonna ditch his life long homies for an NFL team. That would be selling out and not "real".

Gotta cut the gangster. If being a Bully and being real gets you fame and fortune in Baton Rouge let him go back there and live that lifestyle.

I just cant believe his friends are actually aiding him in losing his Golden Ticket.
