No there is no law. Just plain human decency.

If we end up living in a society where human life is so meaningless it is a troubling world. We hope the best for anyone in our sphere - sports figures, work colleagues, family members, friends and neighbours.

For me personally it would change my impression of KJ if I knew him personally, and he did admit to not reporting the incident for days or weeks.

I am part of the society that states that our social contract requires that crimes be exposed. Turning a blind eye away from that type of stuff doesn't work for me. Especially with all the resources and protection that a person like KJ has being an NFL player.
Joseph history suggests he has character concerns. We all agree on that but off of the evidence that has been released to the media, it does not seem worthy of a suspension. I think more information will come out as they get close to trial. The NFL will wait and then make a ruling. The question is what are the Cowboys going to do with him. The OTAS will tell us.

He gonna get a hefty suspension and its because of the optics but they will say cuz he was on tape fighting.

While they commit the murders and then not report that to the authorities? Yep, that's a deserved suspension. I'm voting for expulsion, he's trash.
If it happened the way it seems to have, yes he's trash. There may be new information that comes to light which might make him less culpable. We don't know for sure...yet.

There was the fight beforehand, then he stayed with the same crew and they shot a man. Do you really believe he won't be suspended at the very least?
I think the league will deal with it after the trial. Something might come out by then to get him. You just can’t suspend him for a scuffle. Let’s not overate the fight it was nothing. The murder is the issue.

You forget newsome barely played his last year. Not much tape. And he played in the big ten
I left out Newsome for Ole xwalker. I just know he's full of ish especially in regards to the measurables. I just want to show him how disingenuous he is. I would've let it slide if he didn't do all that extra posting. But I'll entertain him

Joseph did inform the police a month later it appears. Is there a law that you have to report a crime within 48 hours?
The impetus for telling the police might quash any points he may have scored for coming forward.

The optics are the issue, if history is any indicator.

In 2021 with the Cowboys, literally the only negative with Kelvin Joseph was his injury.

He allowed -2 yards receiving and zero catches beyond the line of scrimmage in his 1st NFL start.

As soon as he was back from injury, he became a core special teams player which indicates he was coachable and willing to do the dirty work.
- Many CBs, even mid/late round picks often don't become significant special teams contributors.

A rookie CB that missed a significant amount of training camp / preseason and the first 6 games of the season was not going to start on the Cowboys defense.
- The Cowboys had 3 starting CBs on the roster. It was unlikely for a rookie 2nd round pick to beat them out in 2021 even if not injured.

Kelvin Joseph had top notch speed and game footage.
- He opted out at the last 2 games at Kentucky during the Covid season which some considered a questionable decision.
- He made some rap videos during his college years.
- He was never in legal trouble during college.
- He was available in the 2nd round because he was dismissed from LSU and transferred to Kentucky.

- It would be absurd to say that his game footage and/or measurables didn't qualify him as being worth a 2nd round pick.
- It would also be absurd to say that he failed in 2021 with the Cowboys.
He was only suspended for a bowl game at LSU (failed drug test). He transferred because they wanted him to play safety because Stingley was starting as a freshman and a senior came back from ncaa suspension.

Our FO is having trouble finding guys that work on any level. The RKG and "we like our guys" slogans didn't get it done. I've said this repeatedly in other threads but until Jerry prioritizes winning then the players won't.
jerry wants to win, that is why he will try and keep KJ. If not, why would he even keep him?
Well one thing I didnt think of is the rookie contracts, are all guaranteed arent they?? unless this thing gives them an out on that.

And for stokes when i watched his stuff it was very byron jones esque. Great athlete but didnt see a lot of instincts on the outside. I mean his best highlight against top tier talent was a pass breakup against henry ruggs 1 on 1. He had a lot of pass breakups. The couple picks he had were balls that got thrown to him not a read and break on the ball. Just what i came away with

Does the same not go for everything else in this country. Boeing killed over 300 ppl and paid a fine.
I wonder what is going to happen with Watson. You can make an argument for a 20 game suspension off of optics alone. What happens if he wins the law suits. Personally I think the league should stay away from this and all matters that have been ruled out by the law.

They will say he already didnt play a full season. And will probably be very lenient of an official suspension. I bet all this was hashed out with the league office b4 he was traded

Was Joseph's tape better than Stokes, Horn and Surtain? Yes or no.
  • Yes, if comparing the first 15 college games for each player.
  • Kelvin Joseph showed terrific on-field ability.
    • His ranking based purely on game footage and athletic ability was easily 1st round.
  • He dropped due to character issues.
  • Joseph played a total of 15 games in college.
    • Based on each players 1st game in 2020, it was the Xth game of their college career:
      • Joseph: 7th
      • Surtain: 28th
      • Horn: 24th
  • 2020: Joseph's best games were as good as the best games for Horn and Surtain.
    • Joseph was less consistent than Horn/Surtain in 2020; however,...
      • He was far less experienced due to missing 1-1/2 seasons due to the LSU suspension.
  • INTs
    • Joseph had more INTs in 2020 than Surtain & Horn combined.
    • He had as many INTs in 2020 as Surtain had in 3 seasons.
  • Run Defense
    • Joseph & Surtain were in the plus category.
    • Horn was in the minus category for run defense.
  • Without any character concerns, based strictly on game footage, Joseph would have been one of the top 3 CBs in that draft.
    • If he had played a similar number of games, it's definitely possible that he could have been draft before one or both of Horn/Surtain.

He got a years paid vacation. Owners are already pissed Watson got 230 guaranteed. We thought Mara was fighting to get Zeke suspended. The Ravens, Bengals and Steelers ownership wants their pound of flesh.
