Ouch. I think you may be spot on.

Maybe that's why, for the first time in my life, I sometimes end up laughing when we lose. Why? Because of the way we lose. We lose due to problems that are glaring(Like not being able to stop the run, poor S play, etc), stuff that we have pointed out because it's so obvious, but Jerry continues to ignore.
Yep its hard to respect the front office when you feel you know more than they do.
Respect is earned, and they are at a deficit.

Coach,
Very well written.
I feel a lot of the same way.
I think also the knowledge that this team is fundamentally flawed also contributes.
When you know you are never going to really have a chance of winning the SB, it takes the bloom off before the season ever starts.
Another well written response.

And that's what makes it so frustrating when some fans dog on you for simply wanting to assess and evaluate the team.

when they go 6-2 the first 8 games you will be right there again.
This is not about the record or winning, Roy. It is deeper and different than that to me.

Some do not feel it the same way and that's fine but my passion does not change with the record. That feeling I once had, which I admit was not logical or rational because the team was owned by Murchison.

It dos not help that the owner has made his face the face of the franchise. Back in the day, the HC and his players were the face.

I think he knows how much he alienated a lot of the fans...but he doesn't care. Why? Because of the casual fans that attend anyway...and the corporations that buy seats and hand them out to employees. And the former fans who keep their season tickets and sell their seats to opposing team fans. Jerry's making his money, why should he care if he alienates fans?
Hard to believe he just cares about the money.
You can't take it with you.
You would think he would care about his legacy

I should not know more than they do, but it's hard not to.

For instance, no matter the hoopla and no matter how many scouts and fans bought into it, Mo Claiborne's skillset did not support him being a top 10 pick.

I understand the frustration. Jerry and son does not do anything anymore other than give lip service and stupid sayings.
Fans are tired of that. They want multiple playoff wins.

However they will still be my team.

Remember back in the 80's when there were always events somewhere in D/FW where a player would make an appearance at some random place to sign autographs for several hours? Does that even happen anymore?

Things like that secured a lot of young fan loyalty.

I am now a fan because I've been a fan for so long. If not for the history, I would not choose this team today.

You've managed to sum up my feelings to the T. Well done. It's a shame so many of us feel this way. Thanks to the Jones family...

You are one of the most negative posters on the site.

FAIL...as usual...

Read many of my posts, not a lot of negative in them. I usually try to find the good in what happens.
Not constantly complaining.

These posts are always hilarious to read as someone who was born in the 90s. This team has always been bad for as long as I’ve been watching them. Get over it lol

One of my fondest memories is taking my oldest son to meet Harvey Martin. My son wore his Star Wars t and Harvey asked him how big a fan he was and he bet that he was a bigger fan. He invited my son to hang around since the event was almost over and they talked a full 5 minutes about their favorite characters and parts of Star Wars. Harvey and my son talking in an animated fashion like they were both 6 year old's.

My son has never forgotten that and the one thing I never forgot was just how much football is about men playing a game like boys. Much bigger boys but when I see that true joy of the sport and team, I still get jazzed.

Ask some other posters. You are perceived as one of the biggest complainers on the site. Most think that way, they're simply trying to ignore your negativity. Check out this thread, for example. We are discussing what Jerry has done to us long term fans, and you immediately jump in just to attempt to insult everyone. Hey, maybe you don't know you're doing it, guess that's possible.
