Draft Debate Topic: Trading up for Thibodeaux

It wont cost that much

Teams are eager to trade back in this draft, so the price to go up wont be that significant

That could be true for other teams, but Jerry always comes up on the bad end of the draft trades. If he is truly a top five pick, it won’t be cheap, even in this draft. I don’t think a team would want to trade back to the Dallas draft position.

I have a sneaky feeling Dallas is going against the grain. With all the hoopla about this and that and they won't do this or won't do that.

Jordan Davis makes this Def better knowing we have holes on the Oline and WR. I could easily see them moving up grabbing Davis then taking next year's picks and trying to come back I to the late 1st to early 2nd to try and fill those holes.

Example. Our 1st next year and Conner McGovern plus a another pick I don't know what it would take for both Kansas City Picks 29 and 30 or just one of them and a later pick.

But this just seems to be the perfect chance to do something

CeeDee would be the number 1 receiver in this draft class. Why would the Cowboys trade him?

I have no idea but the reality is that CeeDee and the 24th pick aren't getting you the 4th pick in the draft, even if the Cowboys wanted to trade him.

The Cowboys would not make that trade so you won’t have to worry about it. CeeDee would get the Cowboys a 1st round pick if offered by himself. The Jets would do that trade in a second for CeeDee in the 24th pick.

We don't have enough top 100 picks to address our major needs as is. I'm hoping to trade down, not up.

Cowboys pretty much throw away their 2nd round pick every year anyway. You get a chance to get a blue chip pass rusher like this guy, you gladly give up your 2nd round pick and do it. Its a pipe dream. The guy will never fall far enough. NEVER!!!!

I know this may sound weird but I don't think Thibodeaux is the trade-up target. Yes I know Breer has some strong sources and he's actually one of my favorites but remember what they say about this being lying season. As stated in another thread, I think it's Kyle Hamilton, He checks all the boxes as Quinn's type of safety. His leadership and character are off the chart. According to league insiders, there's some confusion about whether he's a box or free safety. That, along with his 40 times could drop him into the mid-teens.

I wouldn't mind if they traded up to 14 to get him.

Dude's a top pass rusher. We're at 24. Of course you take the deal but it is just not realistic.
