Why do you believe that every player has to be a deep or HR threat? Quite narrow POV.

Super bowl MVP is neither. How do you not see the value in the chain movers/TOP players?
Maybe Schultz demands will make them shop in fa for a Te like they should have in the beginning when there were 7-10 fa tes available for way less

Im still upset that Cooper and Wilson is gone but if Schultz gets paid that's gonna make it even WORSE. LOL

Let him have some of that Dak money since Daks QBR is the biggest beneficiary.

I said they didn't offer Jarwin top of the market money? They didn't, so if I did say that they way it turned out is that I made a correct statement.
he got paid and played 8.5 games out of 33. How is that being right about anything?

He was way better than McKeon, Sprinkle, and Schultz at the time

The fo wanted to be right also. But they weren't. Just like they weren't about most tes. Js

They couldn't pick a great te out of a lineup for squat

Y'all act like Schultz is gonna go to another team and make them great. When his inflated stats didn't even make our team great.

Maybe great against Philly but that's it Lmao

This team plays 2 tes alot but it seldom ever has 2 decent tes at one time.

We need more than just warm bodies on the depth chart.

This is a 2 starting te offense usually. We need to spend our resources to have a Duo at te or a Duo at wr and I don't see either.

I did before Coop left.

I could get on the Gronk and Schultz train or the Cook and Schultz train or the Rudolf and Schultz train.

But I'm not getting on the Schultz McKeon train to nowhere! That's a losing formula.

Wow. All my post said was people aren't talking about Schultz getting paid at the top of the market and you've posted 2 responses that have nothing at all to do with what I wrote.

It's absolutely typical for you to quote and respond to posts in this way - with comments that don't even address the post, all the while pretending they do.

This kind of thing is why I stopped engaging with you. You ignore or are incapable of grasping context & logic, and at times change your story or make things up altogether.

Bye.

Let Schultz play out the Franchise tag year and let him walk.

That appears to be in his future, at this time. He's doing his best to convince the Cowboys but it seems Stephen might have none of it. It's obvious that Stephen is a maverick, like his dad, who persists in doing his own thing. He's welcoming "talents in bloom" who are willing to transition their bodies into NFL-type standards. Ball and Waletzko are good examples of that. They are both gaining weight and bulk to hopefully become bigger and better NFL players. Tyson Smith is yet another example of this newfound policy. All three appear to be "prospects in transition." Here's hoping it works. ;)

Schultz took advantage of his opportunity. If we can put our Cowboys fandom aside.. I’d say he’s worth $11-$14mil a year based on the open market. At this point of his young career, his potential alone increases his value. If he was on a team that concentrated on “Receiving TE’s” rather than the dual (blocking) TEs Dallas deploys.. he could very well be a focal point in an offense.

So good for him. He truely changed the poor opinions of him. That’s said, Dallas prob won’t pay that unless Schultz transcends to another level this year. He would have to make bigger plays and take over games for the cost to be worth it on this team. I can’t see that happening. Personally, I believe Schultz is a solid TE that took advantage of being on an offense that has multiple receiving threats. He’s not a game changing player, but he’s definitely worthy of a modest multi year contract.

Then we should be able to trade him right?

He shouldve tested the market and not tag. Cowboys shouldve drafted 2 TEs this year early instead of drafting for need. This is what happens when you give away your players for free, no draft capital to trade.

Um what? Your argument basically is that "they should not have drafted for need they should have drafted this position... which they need". Drafting for need is quite literally what you are saying the Cowboys should have done because you are focused on picking a position that is drafting for need.

It seems Schultz hoped he'd remain with the Cowboys at the time and be able to negotiate a new contract. That was then, this is now.

Unfortunately, the Dallas FO appears to be averse to negotiating, unless they absolutely have to. Stephen is cheap but also, a bit lazy.

Perhaps if they had a GM to attend to the contracts, our FO would be more inclined to allow another fellow employee to attend to that.

https://www.nfl.com/news/browns-te-david-njoku-agree-to-four-year-56-million-contract-extension

David Njoku 4 years for $56.75 million ($28 million guaranteed)

Last year Njoku caught 36 passes for 475 yards and 4 touchdowns.

Meanwhile Schultz caught 78 passes for 808 yards and 8 touchdowns.

Schultz could command 60 million and 32 million guaranteed for 4 years.

I'm betting no extension will happen and this will be Schultz's final year in Dallas.

Only if some other team wants to pay it next season. We will move on from Schultz.

Not to mention that he was tagged, and so he had no option to test the market.

Schultz is ranked in the top at his position, ahead of Dallas Goedert as well. That said, it sets the bar for each one of those top ranked TE's. Doesn't mean Jerry will keep him.
Don't like his attitude. Let him walk after 2022.
Lol. Ditto!
Imagine if they got rid of everyone whose attitude we, the fans don't like. There would only be a hand full of players left.

Emmitt smith held out twice for money once before he signed his rookie deal..lket that sink in bad attitude huh? so a guy doesn't show for voluntary workouts and hes a bad apple LMAO double standards all over this place.

The 'short timer' has already been given a top level contract by signing his current contract. First, the DEFENSE needs to receive some soon receiving contracts and more money invested...not less.

The offense doesn't need skill position increases while the offensive line is just being reformed!

Money on the offense, is already maxed out.

Tight end has suddenlly become a hard target in the draft each year now?

I said what I said. I'll be rooting for his replacement.
