Why?

You don't believe that, at worst, he could do what TJ Watt does?
Watt doesn’t play that many snaps
No DE does
When he’s on the field I’d be rushing him and I think late last year when we had him back was mostly about not having othe LB’s
If LVE can play like he did in the second half of the season and Cox can play he will be free to rush more and I think he will
But that also means he’s gonna play less snaps because rushing 90% of the snaps will wear you out

He's the only one listed there that isn't a full time pass rusher.

Do the right thing, Quinn. Unleash him.
Follow the money. As the season goes on and Clark gets healthy, you will see more of Parsons rushing the passer from the left end spot. Parsons knows Stephen will try to make him the highest paid middle linebacker when his contract is up.:huh::facepalm:

Watt isn't a DE though.

Watt played 758 snaps last year in 14 games.
Parsons played 904 snaps last year in 16 games.

So, if Watt played 16 games like Parsons did then he would have probably ended up with about the same amount of snaps as Parsons.

The last season Watt played 16 games he had 935 snaps. So, I don't believe Parsons is going to suffer at all playing like Watt.

I believe if you play Parsons the way Pittsburgh plays Watt then he's a 20 sack guy easily.

Watt has never played 90% of snaps
The seasons he’s played in the 80’s have not been full seasons and for a reason
Last year he played 73% of snaps and that’s about all you want a pass rusher playing to me
Tired guys are more likely to get injured and are less effective

We can agree to disagree on this one.

We cant rush nonstop from both ends unless it is passing situations, teams will run at us all day ( 4-3 Arrangement) . I agree on the part about LBs , I am still hopeful they will get one quality FA LB.
Oops! I meant nonstop pass rushing on passing downs. My bad for not being clear.

When you're a truly elite pass rusher it must become your full time job. His versatility went out the window for me once I realized he was elite at it.

Having said that, expect these idiots to be "clever" and have him dropping into coverage on plenty of known passing downs this year. I mean, Dorance Armstrong and Dante Fowler need snaps too.
Having him slam into a wall every play does not sound wise too me, but I am just a dumb fan that doesn't know much.

Because teams don't pass 90% of the time
This. He's a great tackler. Outstanding cover man from the LB spot. Great in ball pursuit. Reads plays. And realistically there is some benefit as a pass rusher if opponents don't know from one play to the next if he is rushing, playing a traditional LB role or covering a receiver.

Most pass rush pressures among NFL rookies (via PFF):
1. Micah Parsons (16)
2. Osa Odighizuwa (15)
3. Odafe Oweh (13)
4. Jaelan Phillips (10)
5. Azeez Ojulari, Joe Tryon-Shoyinka (9)

...we have an unnoticed DT as well!
I never understood the Osa hate, I thought from watching that he had a pretty solid season considering he was a rookie.

100% agree. A player THIS dynamic shouldn't be on one side of the ball every snap. The way he was utilized proved he can play the pass or run and can pass rush from anywhere.
So why wouldn't you maintain the mystique?

He started the season looking very good. Had 2-3 games where he seemed to be in the QB's face time after time. For whatever reason that tapered off as the season wore on. But he was just a rookie, so I'm hoping we see him take another step forward this year.

The most obvious reason is opposing offenses don’t throw the ball 90% of plays . He’ll need to close some gaps and stop the run on some plays.

Seeing how we got ran on last year, we can't afford to take any talent out of the LB room... especially a player as versatile and talented as Micah.

I don't know if he is as good a pass rusher - he may not be. He probably is a much better all around player though that can excel performing in a lot of different roles, all the while keeping the opposing offense worried about where he is and how to account for him.

#1 He is a 4-3 MLB. He has sideline to sideline ability. It is his natural and preferred spot.
#2 He isn't a 4-3 DE or 3-4 OLB. While he has versatility, he has more potential playing all over the field.
#3 He doesn't want to
#4 Increased injury risk
#5 Size

They need to use him just like they are
