I think the key thing to keep in mind is ‘if this stuff is true’.

The guy that was on the field last year looked eager, prepared, and talented. And ‘like he could play’. That’s all that I can say based on what I know.
Sometimes it takes serious stuff and hitting rock bottom for a guy to learn.
Being involved in a homicide would prolly do that for me.
We will see what he brings to camp but I doubt the team has much leeway for him at all.

or stayed put and got Asante Samuel Jr.

McClay prefers the more prototypical size and length in CBs,
.At draft time it was being reported that Cowboys saw Asante Samuel Jr as more of a nickel slot guy (ala Jourdan Lewis) than an outside CB.

I certainly hope this is the wake-up call for him, but some young people don’t get it until it’s too late.

I have to think that the team has told him in no uncertain terms that if he screws up again he’s done.

On the plus side, I did see him making appearances with Prescott, so I’m optimistic that the quarterback is trying to take him under his wing to show him how to do better. Hopefully he follows a good example.

Yes, he is. You're wrong about Barmore just like you're wrong about Joseph's "innocence" when it comes to the shooting homicide.

No, Barmore is not a NT. ..he's not a 1 tech.
He's more of a 3 tech and a noted pass rusher coming out of Alabama.

If he was drafted here, he would've been likely a 3 tech.

Several points here:
  • Kid you not, a week before the 2021 draft, I heard someone on The Ticket- another Dallas sports radio station (probably was Bob Sturm) say that Kelvin Joseph was talented but considered “radioactive” by most NFL scouts because of his immature “posse” behavior off the field.
  • That never stops Jerry from using a premium draft pick to show the rest of the league he knows what he’s doing.
  • KJ may get a pretty serious suspension from the league even if he was not officially charged with a crime. He only spoke out about his knowledge of the crime when a photo of the scene that night identified him on the scene. Only then did he speak. And he’s never publicly expressed any remorse for the pain the murdered kid’s family is going through.
  • I would have cut this guy already. His bad attitude and immature, perhaps even outlaw off-field behavior is exactly the kind of stuff this culture needs out of its locker room. He hasn’t even shown that he’s capable of being anything beyond a ST player.
  • He hasn’t even shown he’s worth keeping around. But as Jimmy once said, Jerry never likes to admit his mistakes.

Come on Bob, the kid was in the back seat sleeping after getting his butt kicked, or he was in the back seat practicing some mumble rap when his "posse" of brain damage buddies started shouting "there they are." Being the head or leader of these idiots doesn't mean he knew what was going on.
Sheesh he can barely talk, much less communicate so how do you expect this good kid to know what was going on.

Sheesh, he has to wear a name tag around his melon head to tell him who he is. Just be glad he can run fast and jump high. The moral decay of America is awesome.

He didn't shoot anybody, so that homicide has nothing to do with him. Why bring it up?
When you’re with those who commit a murder when it happened, then do not report it until you’ve been identified in a photo as being with them, it’s relevant. It has everything to do with him.

His scouting report and history suggested he was hanging with “the wrong crowd” in college and had not changed after being drafted. He hasn’t even shown he’s capable of being a starter or major contributor beyond STs. The BUST tag should be dusted off. And he’s probably going to miss games on suspension from the league. That’s pretty relevant stuff.

Bobby Belt was just on 105.3 The Fan —

Kelvin Joseph was “completely” in the doghouse all of last season.

He was “incredibly” immature throughout rookie year.

Coaches had little to no trust in him.

“Very poor practice player.”

Bobby said he’d rather have Kelvin Benjamin than Kelvin Joseph.
@Dak_Attack_09 remember when you said lol sorry I am actually laughing out loud right now that the reason Kelvin Joseph wasn't lining up against Lamb was because LOL he was so good that he would make Lamb look bad ?

HAHAHAHAHA.

Just makes you wonder what the coaches are thinking. The guys there to play football he’s young and a different generation. Ok you don’t like him or trust him but he can play so play him why does it have to be all this other stuff. What’s the worst that can happen he gets burnt once for a td and realizes he needs to practice.

That's the only thing bad about not valuing players who don't fit a certain mold. I think Samuel was considered the safer pick, but Joseph was closer to the length that we wanted and probably had a better SPARQ score.
I get the whole athlete thinking and there’s a place for it
But to me my main factors are love for the game, heart and desire

The moral decay of the world. "who cares if he was involved, can he cover his man and play defense?" "People liked killer ray, why can't people like little kelvin?"

from my understanding, it was more than just SPARQ and workout numbers; as Joseph turned in an impressive outing performance
vs eventual Heisman Trophy Winner 'Bama WR Devontae Smith, ..and KJ had 4 INTs his final year in college.
i can see why they risked the gamble to take him in the 2nd round.

More relevant is he clearly is stupid, and has no idea of what he is throwing away in regards to his life. Some guys are fixable and it is becoming clear he isn't one the Cowboys want to bother with

You may not understand, but sometimes its not as easy as just "reporting" it.

Im sure he wouldn't have purposely hopped in the car if he knew they were on their way to go murder someone. Just because you're in the car when something suddenly goes down, you're not responsible for the actions of 2 other grown men.

Now back to the reporting it thing. Im not sure where you're from, but where im from, "reporting" something can get you killed or your family members hit up quickly!!!

I don't know how many people would consider "reporting" the right thing to do, knowing you've just jeopardized the safety of you and yours. So honestly, i think he did the RIGHT thing by not initially reporting anything.

Well…in some states, it is a crime to not report a serious crime like murder. Texas makes it mandatory to report higher offense crimes. Failure to do so could lead to a misdemeanor charge. So there’s that.

Btw…I’m from Fort Worth, TX.

Not surprising to hear. I had a feeling something was up since the Cowboys have stayed very quiet about Kelvin Joseph for the past year. What a huge mistake this pick was. Another super costly 2nd round pick gone to waste. Who made this choice???
It will not be WM he only picks the good one’s

Not my argument or debate, but NE considers him a NT, at least thats how they have Barmore listed on their depth chart.
