They have been taking chances in the second round way before McClay was around. So I find it hard to blame him.

A lot of warning flags were there pre draft, they chose to ignore it.

that does happen everywhere, but happens more often here, when the GM and VP of player personnel have 0 accountability or fear of losing their jobs.

I'm sorry, but who is Bobby Belt and what makes him qualified to report on Dallas personnel? Joseph was quiet last season. When he did make it onto the field, he played really well at corner, and he's been praised by the coaching staff for his work ethic this offseason. He's an idiot for hanging out with the wrong crowd, but nothing about what we saw last season leads me to believe anything this guy is saying.

The mob mentality being displayed in this thread...it's concerning. Are we just going to believe everything some random dude says because it fits a profile we've been given? I'm more bothered by this than anything that was said about Kelvin Joseph.

The guy that was on the field last year looked eager, prepared, and talented. And ‘like he could play’. That’s all that I can say based on what I know.

No, Barmore is not a NT. ..he's not a 1 tech.
He's more of a 3 tech and a noted pass rusher coming out of Alabama.

If he was drafted here, he would've been likely a 3 tech.

Go watch Barmore's highlights from 2021 which I posted earlier in this thread. There were some plays, including against us, where Barmore lined up as a NT right over Center.

I understand he plays mostly a 3-tech due to the 4 man alignment being run, but Barmore also has been played at NT during a 3 man alignment.

a one tech in the 4 man front, but is he truly a 1 tech ?

With the Pats depth chart, you may see it listed as 3-4 in media guides, but you wouldn't believe how much 4 man fronts they actually will run.

Hypothetically , If we had packaged a trade up to draft Bama's Christian Barmore at that time,.do you think we'd be doing that for a NT/1 tech guy.

of course they'll have him "listed" as a NT, but that wasn't his game coming out of Bama, his value wasn't run defense- it was as a pass rusher.
that's how he got the comparisons to Chris Jones - coming out of ' Bama.

I don't give a d--n what any outsider thinks. The bottom line, the Patriots themselves have Barmore listed as a NT. That means their defensive guru Head Coach, Bill Belichick, regards Christian Barmore as a NT who is versatile enough to play different positions during different alignments during games.

Are you saying you know more than Bill Belichick?
