now we know why kyler ditched the Oakland A's who selected him and paid him a sign on bonus.

He clearly dodged a bullet by not going to the MLB , the A's entire roster makes almost as much as Kyler makes alone .

You can’t continue spinning the wheel for that one in a generation Elite QB. If you find one good enough to take you to the playoffs , that’s enough to build around.

Franchises are a business and as Jethro has taught them interesting and relative puts butts in the seats and sells merchandise .

You can’t continue putting up 4-13 seasons continuing to look for the next Elite QB. It’s simply not good business. If it happens fine but you must move on and do best you can with what you have. There’s just not enough Elite QB’s for 32 teams.

No team can afford that not just Jones.

Dak is above average my almost any metric you want to use.
His model is obviously none teams are following. Lol

Totally ridiculous. There simply isn’t enough Elite QB’s to go around. Teams can’t afford to be totally irrelevant until they find one if they ever do. Just another example of trolling.

This is a business first. Must sell tickets and merchandise while attracting sponsors. Much easier at 10-7 in the playoffs than 4-13 looking for your next QB.

I really think many are not aware of of how the QB salary market works. “He’s not worth it”. You could say that about nearly any very highly paid person and on some level that is true, but it also doesn’t matter.

Here’s what I do think about Dak’s future contract. This is the prefect draft to throw a premium pick at a QB if Dak doesn’t look on the edge of elite. If he does you suck it up and pay the next tsunami contract.

QB’s salaries don’t necessarily represent their pecking order. It’s all about the timing of their contract and market price.

Mahomes deal last year was the exception when the highest paid is actually considered the best.

Exactly, and the Cowboys got incredibly lucky with Romo and Dak. Dak is the least of the problems on this team.

This might be the worst contract in the NFL now.

I highly doubt anybody at all believes Murray is worth what he is now being paid.

I hated Dak's contract when he was paid and same with this contract. But if you tell me pick Dak or Kyler with their contracts in mind, I would still take Kyler as I think he is just a better player. More dynamic, better arm, game breaker, more accurate. Again stop crying Dak fans. I am not saying Dak sucks but he will always be just good, he will never be a franchise guy.

Well, makes you feel better about Dak's contract now does it not ?
not really , we have seen dak for 6 seasons now and one win in the playoffs and folding in imporant games . at the end the QB is either an asset or a liability .
Dak has not proven he can lead this team to the CCG or the SB yet. Watson is capable indeed. and kyler has 2 years to show what he can do.

You're paying a QB everyone sees as somewhere around 12ish to 15ish the 2nd most per year.

I said it once and I'll say it again...

You should only pay top dollar for top talent, not because it's "their turn to get paid".

Who is this "everyone" you're citing? Most consensus that I have seen have Dak in the 8-12 range.

nfl.com has him at 9

https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-qb-index-ranking-all-62-starting-qbs-of-the-2021-nfl-season

cbs sports has him at 10

https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...s-a-group-full-of-ascending-young-superstars/

yahoo sports and nbc sports both have him at 12.

I did not see any rankings of him lower than that.

If Dak plays as well as he did before the calf injury this entire season nobody is going to rank him outside the top 5.

And Dak's not the second highest QB per year.. He's behind Mahomes, Allen, Rodgers, Carr, Watson and now Murray

I know you have Dak on the brain, but that post nor is this thread about Dak.

That you replied to post as well as this thread is about Murray.
