However - what everyone is waiting for is the next step....how the commissioner's office views the incident - and Joseph's actions before, during, and afterwards.

That is always a big question since it doesn't have to be tied to prosecution. We've already seen that conduct detrimental is whatever the commissioner wants it to be.

Thanks for posting this. I don't think some can accept that he has been cleared or has been truthful or forthcoming since he didn't come forward right away. This actually happens quite often. Witnesses don't want to get involved for a variety of reasons. Joseph was forced, too, but that doesn't give us reason to believe he hasn't been cooperative or that he's hiding something.

I think some people think regardless of him being truthful and cooperative he still played a part and shouldn't get away scot free. I would feel different had he came forward of his own volition. I'm much more inclined to believe he thought they got away with it until his face was on TV.

What exactly was his part that he's getting away with scot-free?

He got into an altercation with the victim. He was in the car with the shooters. That is all we know.

Are we supposed to be mad if he gets away with those things because he didn't come "forward of his own volition?"

I certainly would have preferred that he had gone to the police immediately. I would have preferred that he had not been there in the first place. But I don't think he should be punished for the company he keeps or even not initially fessing up to being there if he is being truthful and cooperating. He made some bad choices, but if it only involved bad company, getting into a brief scuffle and not initially ratting his companions out, I don't see anything that he's getting away with scot-free. It would be different if he was refusing to cooperate.

Here are Kelvin Joseph’s defensive stats from last year:
  • Games played: 10
  • Four of those 10 games he had zero defensive snaps.
  • Total defensive snap counts: 164
  • Only two games where he had significant playing time- both blowouts-
    • Vs. WFT in a 56-14 blowout win- had 57 snaps- 0 picks, 3 combined tackles, 1 pass defended.
    • Vs. Phi in a 51-26 blowout- had 7 tackles (good) 0 picks, 0 passes defended
  • For the season, he had 2 passes defended.
  • Did not play a single defensive snap vs SF in playoff game.
When I said that Kelvin Joseph did little last year to make us think he has a bright future here is based on those stats. If he gets his act together and plays more and plays better, then I will be happy.

I’m basing my opinion of KJ not on dislike, but his actual stats.
Stat-wise solely you can’t leave out the targets. He played well when he played we all saw and commented on it in real time.

I think it’s pretty obvious he has the skills to be a very good player. We’ll see how it pans out.

Agreed. Now, he has to show he has the mental fortitude to succeed. Some very skilled players never made it in this game because they didn't have the head for it. He's given us reasons to be concerned that he might be one of those, but we don't know yet how the story will end even though some are already trying to close the book.

Did we get him right, though?

To be honest I was being sarcastic . True both Joseph and Wright are only in yr two but for how high each were drafted so far it’s been zero . Glad we kept Brown a 6th rounder in Dallas with Jourdan Lewis.

See these are the guys Joseph and Wright have to bypass to go beyond minimal playing time and getting tossed out of games when fighting on special teams plays . ( Joseph Raiders game ) .

And I was trying to be funny, playing off his last name. But apparently, I failed.

This wasn't some rowdy kids who went out drinking and hit someone with their car. They got into a fight. Left the fight to get in their vehicle. Drove past their opponents and shot at them like cowards. Some things have to be dealt with harshly.

What did he get away with if there's no charges? I've cited a couple laws multiple times. Considering a man is dead and the police had to go to the media to get KJ to come in with his lawyer, I think punishment is warranted. Why not? Again- this happens in Texas all the time. Why should KJ be treated differently?

The ones defending him act like he was kidnapped and no idea there were thugs with guns willing to murder. If only one person did the shooting, why did more than one get charged but not KJ?

Did you make poor choices when you were young?
Hanging out with murders goes beyond a mistake. I’m a UK fan and want him to thrive, but he’s going to have to make some drastic changes or he’ll be just another talented player that blew it.
It is not about you. You are speaking from a judgmental perspective when you don't know all the facts. By the way, it's murderers not murders Mr. know it all.

I'm sure I did when I was an adolescent. But not to this degree at 22 yrs old. I've never took time away from my career to answer questions about being in THE drive-by vehicle.
You got it man. You know it all and you are perfect.

We know former judge Susan Robinson is adjudicating the Waston matter.
Is Joseph's siuation "on the docket" in the commissioner's office - or is it currently under investigation by an appointee?
The league is waiting to see if Joseph is named a starter.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Big freaking shame on this kid....came in with his head not on the game but on his brand, in rap even. Associating with the wrong people, and there you have it. He would need to do a 180.....but who wants to bet that he will. Looks like things can only get worse for this kid. Wasted talent.

……we sometimes assume that someone is associating with the wrong people when in fact that person is the wrong people
