Hey guys,

I made a similar thread after the playoff loss last year and things felt more bleak than hopeful, but a new season is around the corner, so I wanted to check in and see how everyone is feeling about it.

Given what we currently know about the roster and overall team/organization dynamic, what are you expecting/hoping for out of the season?

Yes, I know I'm mostly known as a hater around here, so I'm sure nobody will be shocked to hear that I'm not overly optimistic about 2022. It seems the roster got worse and then Stephen & Jerry are spinning it, per usual, by trying to voice their "confidence" in all the young guys.

Overall though, I'm still feeling the hangover from the 49er loss.

I'm struggling to find much excitement and that's a very foreign feeling for me concerning the Cowboys, especially in August.

Anyways, I'm rambling. How do y'all feel???

Not good to keep dwelling on the past. It's a new season which is ALWAYS exciting & something to look forward to.

Are they really spinning anything?
What else are the suppose to do or say.
I think it is more the fans spin good or bad stuff. Human nature. Then they blame the FO, just as in a work environment, the workers complain about the upper management. But often they need too.

Anyway, I tried to keep a more tempered enthusiasm this off season. But still look at the positive sides overall more than the negative.
And of course my excitement level is high. Because it is football season soon.
My excitement level is up as to improvements on the defense as the offense continues to be a top 5.

My excitement level is up, because it is the start of a new season where anything can happen. Not going to sit here and be a Debbie downer or a negative Nancy on anything and everything. But will criticize when it is needed.

GO COWBOYS :thumbup::flagwave:

Feeling good and looking forward to the season. 49ers game is behind us, looking to improve overall this year from last season. I think offensively with the loss of Cooper I think we will actually see a more balanced offense utilizing the run and think Tyler Smith will be a big addition in upfront blocking for the run. I also expect to see defense take another step forward this year. I still think before this season starts Dallas will acquire a vet WR. Big concern is FG kicking. When so many games come down to hitting the 3 and right now both kickers seem to be struggling

I like this perspective!! I'm gonna try to adopt your optimism

I agree about the kicker though! I'm still beyond happy we moved on from Peg Leg Greg, but geez, these two we have in camp do not give me much confidence at all.

I'm a homer and I don't expect much, but I won't let it get me down. I'll enjoy gamedays, the CZ banter, gameday menus and the overall comadrie that comes from being a fan. Winning or losing won't pay my bills and won't keep me up at night. Salud! Go Cowboys!

You hope to learn from defeat but as a player you can't dwell on it, you get knocked down you get up dust yourself off and go again, there is no time for self pity.

Man, they're nearly $20 million under the cap; and there's lots of room for roster improvement.

What are they supposed to do or say? They shouldn't say anything, but they should go and get some quality WR insurance.

If they were really worried about winning, there are a couple underutilized, young WR that could be traded for on the cheap.

Well unfortunately, I'm a battered fan of 30 years, so it's not easy to move on and clean the slate lol

Always enjoy watching the team play but I'm significantly less optimistic than I was at this point last year. If Kellen figures out how to beat the defensive scheme that stifled the team to end last year then this could be good but if not . . . I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed.

We won't really know until week 1.

Yes sir! Let's just enjoy the ride (even if the ending is a disappointment). You're right though, the banter and bickering on the CZ does add so much to the fan experience. I'm appreciative of homers like you :starspin:
