I would say Joseph needs to show the staff and FO football is priority one in his life. So far it doesnt seem like it. When you start accumulating baggage, you need to be very good to overcome it.

isnt the rookie contract he has all guaranteed? if so , no way steve would cut him!

From what I saw of bland in denver game I would keep him over kj.
But that is one game curious to see if he looks that good again in sat game.
If I am a billionaire and have 20 million cap space I might.

KJ came in with one strike against him because he had the talent of all the best corners but he fell to the second round. I was perfectly OK with drafting him because of his upside, I believe everyone deserves a second chance but nobody more than Jerry.

But the second strike involved someone's life and all those that loved him. A totally innocent man got gunned down in the most cowardice of all ways in a dry by shooting and he was sitting right next to the guy.

How big does the 3rd strike need to be?

As it stands right now, I think there is a good chance that Joseph doesn't make the team. He certainly isn't a lock. It looks like Bland is beating him out and the off the field stuff makes him a guy that you pretty much don't want on the team.

It’s funny, it’s like you read my mind. I was about to start a thread about this exact same subject. I think it’s a great conversation to have.

I heard someone mention that Joseph would rank 6th among the corners at this point in time. They said 7th if you count Mukuamu’s reps there.

Add that to his off-field issues and it’s a legit question to ask if he’ll even make the 53?

Quite shocking for a guy who played great in his limited snaps last year.

I’m going to wait until 3rd pre-season game is over before making a call.

I've been hearing several raving reviews and two thumbs up with 5th round draftee
rookie CB Daron Bland, whose put together solid camp practices and a solid preseason game.
Every since camp opened, I'm hearing Bland is still putting up a show in camp
and Cowboys have been quite impressed with him..

- But with former 2nd round pick Kelvin Joseph, i've not heard near as much raves and praises with his
camp practices, and he had a mixed Denver game to add to that.

- And hearing comments from Bobby Belt from 105.3 the fan radio, he posed a question if Joseph could
actually be in danger of being cut at 53 roster finale.

- Also keep in mind that Joseph still may not be out of the water with Goodell and NFL conduct policy
that could result in facing suspension.

- i would have expected the 2nd year Joseph as should've been receiving the great reviews, but
it's actually been 5th rd pick Bland instead.

- As a 2nd rd. pick, i would think the Cowboys would expect Joseph to seize that 2nd CB role opposite
Diggs, but at this early point, it doesn't look like the case.
Fat is behind the 8ball any who. Bland is a winner. Go with the winner

The kid got serious off field problems and issues, hope he can handle the mental aspect, NFL rigorrous grind, high expectations of a 2nd rounder. That itself might seal a roster spot this season, unless he continues muck up on AND off the field.

Seems like he's got potential, but I'm from Mizzou, so "show me". Which I really hope he does. Screw it on right, kid!.

I think Wright is more on the bubble than KJ at this point. A couple more weeks should make it a bit clearer.

Bland has certainly played well enough where if it did come down to him or Joseph, the team very well might keep Bland and cut BMF.

However, I don’t think it’ll come down to that. I think they’ll find a way to keep both.

Let's not forget that Joseph had a huge ST role last year.

Anyone catch if Bland has been playing ST? If you aren't the top CBs, you need to be good on ST

Bland and Wright can both be gunners and play on the other special teams as well. Bland can also start at slot corner.

A Joseph cut would be very surprising at this point, I don't think he's had a bad camp and been taking things more seriously. To me Wright is probably in more danger of being cut if they keep 5 corners vs 6.

Joseph will make the team, and could be used as trade bait to secure a WR or O-line depth later in the season

I could see this. If Bland keeps playing as well as he has, I could definitely see us trading one of the corners for a need at another position (like we did with Charvarius Ward a few years back). Hopefully, we do better than we did in that trade, though, getting Parker Ehringer, who never panned out to be OL depth, while Ward went on to be a solid starter.

Bland made some plays in TC. I dont think KJ gey cut. But he may be traded or given one more year. Tbh my tolerance with him would low.
