Hmmm ... didn't think about signing him to the practice squad. We could do that like we did with Carr a few years ago. Of course, the problem is that you can only bring up two players for each game. Maher is a certainty and we're not going to go into a game without a backup QB, no matter how bad our options are.

I guess I could see it as a way to make sure Peters is ready before moving him to the 53 and sending one of the players we kept to the PS.

This would be a great signing. He’s actually an upgrade over even Tyron. Tyron is completely broken down don’t care if he’s 8 years younger. Peters is also a much better run blocker at this point. All of a sudden

LT- Peters
LG- Smith
C- Biadsz
RG- Martin
RT- Steele

is looking really good around week 3-4.

I doubt Peters is in shape at 40 to start next Sunday night, but he could be a huge contributor down the stretch.

This guy was born to play tackle in the NFL and he will greatly improve the depth.

He played LT with the Bears last season.

"Jason Peters' 77.5 PFF Grade in 2021 was the highest by a Bears Tackle since 2017."
A lot of people here a just Cowboys fans. They don’t pay much attention to the rest of the league unfortunately.

He would be a great fit for a year so we can go into the draft and get a replacement asap.

All the posters spamming Peters are clueless.

Just admit you didnt watch a single down of his play with the Bears. Its not about age, it's about production.

Jerry needs to make sure Peters does not leave without a contract and plug him in at LT.

The guy is 40 years old I would rather take my chances with what we have. He’s old enough to be Tyler Smith’s father. Lol

Peters isn't what he used to be, and I hope Tyler takes the job and runs with it. That's better for us all around.

But Peters would be a fine swing tackle option, not to mention the wisdom he could pass on to the younger linemen, being a multiple All Pro and SB champion.

Dallas has the cap space, so just give him $2 million plus incentives and get on with it.
