Are the Jones rich outside the Cowboys franchise valuation?

Theure operating like they’re broke/cash poor.

Wait a minute. I distinctly remember Prescott saying that everybody could get paid.

Is the old coot trying to make excuses for failure when other teams pay their QB and manage the rest of their cap as well?

The problem is evaluation and too much importance placed on the skill positions with money.

This offseason seems like Jerry is having buyers regret right now when it comes to Dak.

1. He's not going above and beyond to surround Dak with amazing talent on offense.

2. He's desperate for a dominate run game and has been vocal about it. So essentially the less Dak the better.

3. He's saying things like this, acknowledging that they paid Dak to to be great and carry things if needed, not to be carried.

I wonder if he's talking to other coaches (Quinn/Peyton) that's he's interested in and they aren't high on Dak? I doubt this, but who knows. McCarthy is set up to fail though, so a new coach is happening very soon.

Either way I think Dak is on his last legs here if he doesn't do something great. Jerry seems weirdly over this Dak experiment and he's not hiding it very well.
brother he clearly did not want Amari on the team...and look at the bills they have diggs and then mckenzie and gabriel...we were spoiled for having amari gallup and ceedee for 2 years other teams make it work...Dak should be able to as well

It's pretty evident that Jerry is fed up with Dak's performances over the last 6 years.

What an incredibly stupid comment. It was Dak’s performances the last 6 years that earned him the huge contract extension. If Jerry was fed up with his performances the last 6 years he would’ve let him walk. Get real! Dak was having an MVP year and was on pace for over 6000 yards when he was injured in 2020. Just another reason why he got that big contract. You have absolutely no clue if you think an owner is going to pay a QB $40 million per season if they’re fed up with their performances. Keep making yourself look foolish.

Nothing immediate, but every QB that gets signed makes Dak contract look a little less horrible, right? That's what we're told at least, so maybe someone wants him more than Jerry and is willing to deal something?

Maybe we finally take the QB position serious and draft his replacement to sit behind him, learn, and be ready when his contract is up?

This offseason feels like a message to me. Maybe it's not, but it sure seems like it.
These are all just my opinions after observing Jerry Jones for 33 years.

Jones could not care less about other quarterbacks contracts. He is only concerned with his franchise quarterback's (currently Prescott) contract.

Three decades plus history establishes Jones does not deal quarterbacks who are his favorites. Heck. If the Tony Banks/Quincy Carter situation does not convince anyone how Jones feels in this regard, nothing ever will. And I doubt Prescott will get hooked on drugs that will impact his ability to stand behind center.

Perhaps a major package involving multiple players might persuade Jones to part with Prescott. "A one-on-one swap of quarterbacks?" No one should hold their breath waiting to see that happen. Jones. Loves. Prescott. Just like he loved Romo. Just like he loved Aikman.

The team's quarterback draft history was established long ago. A quarterback will be drafted in the mid-to-lower rounds in random years as long as Jones has a franchise quarterback on the roster. The best case scenario for anyone desiring a change at the position is for a similar situation seen in the 2016 preseason to play out in the next few years.

Yes. There is a message being told. It is loud. It is old. The message is, "I am Jerry Jones. My general managership is solid and should not be questioned. And if it is questioned, I will divert pertinent questions about what a GM should do to my players and coaches to answer. Just as I have always done before."

Sorry, that excuse is total nonsense and it is his job as the GM to create a competent roster.

He had over $21m after tagging Schultz, got nothing for Amari, and ignored swing tackle hoping one of the young guys would step up. Anyway, you slice it, the front office could have made better decisions on where to allocate resources this offseason.

Then why are we wasting our time?

is there a difference to you if Dak is gone in 23, 24, or 25? What difference is it going to make? You going to follow a different team?

And what's worse is that if all is about saving money for Dak's $49 million next year, plus Micah, CeeDee, and Diggs contacts coming in the next few years.

Stephen doesn't risk any of the family money ever.

I'm going to tune out even more than I did last year. Didn't post here once all season.
