So there is the excuse for losing for the next few years. Jerry shrugs..."Hey, what ya gonna do?" I mean, no team in the history of the NFL has ever been able to keep a good QB and surround that QB with good players. Not ever....

Actual good QBs don't need to be surrounded by talent to have success.

That's why you don't pay them top money unless they have top talent.

You don't buy a tent for the price that you would pay for a mansion just because you're comfortable there.

Pay the QB and RB then sacrifice the Oline. That makes sense!

Defense. I reserve the right to check out though. Lol

I started vicariously following Cincy last year because Burrow is a fascinating watch.
Defense will be fun to watch. Might keep you engaged all season. You have the right to check out whenever you want.

Why bother kicking you in if you just keep jumping in voluntarily?

he did. he went and got Amari. He paid Zeke. Drafted, Gallup, Schultz and Ceedee. Had one of the best oline's in football but Dak couldnt win jack with everything he had.
I guess you didn’t understand anything that I wrote. Good job.

Someone should just gather together Jones' quotes for the past 33 years. They would be excellent dialogue material for a new Captain Obvious commercial campaign.
Would double his merchandise sales if they just put "Cause Jerry says so" , small logo on the back of all merch, hats, jerseys, bags, etc.

I guess Matt Stafford is terrible as he was a perennial loser until he had actual talent around him. Drew Brees was 7-9 for multiple years in a row because the Saints had minimal talent. If you believe Watson is any good the Texans went 4-12 with him starting because they had no talent. Tom Brady in his last year in NE limbed into the playoffs due to playing in a then garbage division before getting destroyed in the first round because they had talent on offense.

Who are these mythical QBs who are playing well and winning without talent around them? They do not seem to exist in the NFL so should we check Narnia.

I said "surrounded by talent".

I never said they didn't need anybody at all around them.

His statement is false. Yes, it makes CAP management more difficult, but other teams have managed to do it. The Rams did it last year. You can argue that you cannot have a start player at every positions but that is different than what Jerry is saying. Jerry is making excuses for his poor offseason. And btw, Dak's CAP hit this year is under $20 million. What is Jerry going to do when it hits almost $50 million next year?

Perhaps Jerry is saying he is not spending this year because he has to worry about Dak's $50 million CAP hit next year. But Jerry never should have signed a shot deal with Dak. He should have held out for at least 6 years, if not longer.
