Anyone here watch Veep?

When I think Jones negotiating, I envion that episode with Martin Mull as "The Eagle" during the Nevada Recount. You hear all these stories of past glories, but then you just get a senile old man

I would not think you would do that until you had at least come to some understanding.
So the fact he took a physical with the Cowboys is newsworthy because it means he's closer to signing a deal with Dallas.
Thus, it makes it newsworthy for Cowboys fans compared to Peters taking a physical with some other team.
That's what I was getting at.

Maybe so, but the physical part was in the original story that I heard - or at least a tweet. Fish did not break that in this "update"

Didn't know that. If it was already reported, you're right. It wasn't breaking news.

Again more clickbait. Jerry Jones brought up the physical this morning on the Fan. Why does this unemployed dude get so much attention?

hers what im concerned about Eagles LT broke his arm and now who knows 6 weeks out maybe they go after Peters and we lose.

Dillard is a backup anyway, and the Eagles don't even really like him. They were trying to trade him before the 53 man cut down. He won't be out as long as Tyron so my guess is they will not look to sign someone like Peters. But it depends on what Peters wants I guess. I don;t think he wants to be a backup. I think he still wants to play. He would play for Dallas but he would ride the bench for the Eagles.

If the Cowboys are serious about signing him now they must be really worried about their 1st round draft pick. When they drafted Tyron, they did not hesitate to play him on day 1.

Remember though he played the first year at RT

Do free agents take physicals with every team interested in them?

I am not sure since I don’t and never have worked for the NFL, so I’m not going to act like I know everything. With that said, I assume that a visit would include a physical. What I do know is that every athlete gets a physical prior to the season starting, like around OTA’s or camp. Since Peterson hasn’t attended any, I would image his visit would include this since I just might be important.

Interested and visiting is two totally different actions.

Just saying!

It actually looks like the were prepared. They drafted a 1st and a 5th round tackle and then had the cap space to go after the best free agent tackle on the market.

We absolutely were not prepared. If you have to go out and sign a 40 year old OT two weeks before the season starts, you weren't prepared.

They took a risky calculation thinking that they could dump Collins and then backfill with Ball, Smith and Waletzko. Three guys that have never even taken a NFL snap, one of which you drafted to be your starting LG initially. It should surprise zero fans, other than the fan boys, that the plan blew up in their face and they are now left searching the waiver wire for OT help.

But you get an A for the effort on spinning this as a job well done by the front office.
