9 of the 10 teams with the most cap space left over right now have one thing in common. They haven't won anything in ages. In fact (with the exception of the Broncos 7 years ago) the last Super Bowl win for that group was Dallas in 1995.. Not exactly a ringing endorsement on what you are saying.

At some point you have to go for it and spend to win now. The last 5 Super Bowl Champions are all in the bottom 10 in cap space left and all (but probably the Eagles) are primed to compete again.

Doesn't help that the money you are talking about rolling over has been used by management to overpay our own players time and time again the last decade or so (Lawrence, Smith, Elliott, Cooper, maybe Dak, et al).

Conversely, 4 of the 6 with the least will be some of the worst teams in the league this year. (Giants, Falcons, Texans, LIons)

I personally like what they are attempting to do. Build through the draft and young players.

For every Eagles 2017, Rams last year, and whoever else spent to win, there are a dozen NYGs, Eagles (normally they flame out when they spend, they got lucky in 2017) and Commanders debacles when overspending on FAs.

Not sure Tyron's coming back, this season at least. Jerry's already backtracking a bit. Today he said it's "likely" he'll return.

Young OL are a premium.

I personally would be fine with them backing up Peters and RT while Tyler plays full-time LG.
