Nothing to do with injuries, the guy has no heart.....he does not like playing football, he likes the perks of being a football player

except the stat sheet says otherwise.

the knee is going to go out again.

No he's not. I'm talking about the present. There's training footage all over the place and he looks like a 10th grader with bricks on his feet. You can go back and list all the plays he caught up to someone throughout his career and you could double the times he was a slug to the ball.

The guy had like three 120+ tackle seasons in Dallas. He averaged 85 SOLO tackles and 6 TFLs per season from 2018 to 2020. Any assertion that he was a "slug" the whole time is just a fan being stupid. If he was a slug then what does that say about the rest of the guys on the defense? Sure his leg deteriorated faster than we hoped.. but to act as if Jaylon stunk up the joint for 4 years flies in the face of reality. Whether he ever plays another down he's got 15-20 million dollars in the bank.. I wish him well.

No? He looked very fast when he played for us. He was simply easily eluded due to his inability to stay in front of the ball carrier because he could no longer cut.
No, toward the end in Dallas and currently with regard to straight line speed it's just not impressive. He was never better than a 4.5 to begin with. No argument with the lack of lateral agility or speed.

You're reaching here. I'm obviously talking about the current JS, not some "blast from the past" highlight reel. I'm also not referring to tackles. Huh? You like to add words and connect dots that aren't there.
I wish him well too, but let's not pretend he played worse when he didn't have band aids around him or, that silly swipe celebration for all these tackles.
I'm amazed, when the video in this very thread looks just like a slug.

You were the one who referred to his being slow to the ball .. I ask again.. if he was slow to the ball how did he average 85 solo tackles three straight season? What were the other guys on the defense doing to allow a "slug" to rack up those totals? That's more than 5 solo tackles a game right. Whether he looks like slug now is not the point. The vitriol that forces people to revise history is what irks me. People are free to not like anybody they choose.. But they don't get to pretend that their dislike in any way alters what a player was able to achieve on the field. Jaylon was never "great" for the Cowboys.. But he was very good for a couple of years sandwiched between two mediocre to bad years. That's reality. And why does anyone care if a team brings him in for a looksee? How does that harm any of us in anyway? Teams bring guys in for tryouts a thousand times a year who turn out not to be able to play. Why does this one give you heartburn?

Lmao. Here, I'll say it real simple. One last time.
I'm NOT just talking about the past. I'm NOT just talking about THREE seasons ago. Instead of dreaming of the past, I tend to take a good look CURRENTLY. THAT is the point.
2021 - Three different teams, 4 starts, 26 tackles. But feel free to cherry pick his 3 best seasons and then assume I "like" or dislike" the guy. Even though a complete moron could have picked out I mentioned I wish him well. I also mentioned he was good when he had better players.

How do you make a comeback when you were never around in the first place? One of the worst 2nd round picks the Cowboys ever made.

That’s really saying something considering their “philosophy” in the 2nd round over the years! No way you draft that injury at 34 overall. A total Jerry move and a backbreaker when you could’ve gotten much better!

A 4.5 is phenomenal for a LB. He's very fast, and still is. Just can't turn. That's why he was good for one year, until teams learned to simply make him have to turn. He can't. Game over.

Pointing to tackle totals is about the dumbest approach to analyzing a defensive player.

I can't help myself when it comes to Jaylon...is the brand suffering because he isn't in the NFL anymore? Is that what is driving this? I ask because these little videos are so annoying. Just get into great shape. Keep your mouth shut. Ask the agent to set up a few visits. Be serious about playing linebacker the NFL and end the Clear Eyed stupidity. I would advise Jaylon to shut down all of his social media accounts and side businesses until he can FULLY establish himself in the league again.

Agreed. Noone cares. Earn a roster spot and start over from scratch.

Yeah.. just like pointing to yards and touchdowns is the dumbest approach to analyzing an offensive player. Let's not look at what they do.. Let's use some other made up trigonometric function to determine a player's effectiveness. 5-6 solo tackles on average per game. 5-6 times a game when he was the first and only person there to make a tackle.. Meaning that if he averaged 60 snaps a game he was the ONLY tackler on one out of every 10 plays he was on the field. My guess is that was best on the team and probably stacks up favorably with the best ILBs in the game during that time. No I am not saying he was one of the best ILBs in the game.. but regardless of people hating him because Jerry picked him try to peddle.. he wasn't that bad .. At least not until the knee finally gave out on him. Which we all knew it would.. We just hoped it would be in year 7 or 8 not year 3-4.

Who? Oh hat guy who constantly quit and gave up on plays. Cant believe he got paid. One of the most embarrassing players to ever wear a cowboys uniform for sure.

Remember when he last vs the blocking Sled?
- That happened because his technique was all wrong.
- If the player is too close or to far away from the sled when the explode into it, they will not generate any power.
No mentioning sleds
Just the thought makes me hurl
