Half of the McCarthy era had The Nooch, Dalton, and others besides Dak start games for him. With Dak the Cowboys have had the number 1 offense in the league when he plays.
Would you rather have Chiefs or Bills offense than the Cowboys? Numbers can be very misleading. Cowboys offense racks up stats in the fourth quarter when they are far behind because they did nothing the first 3 quarters.

Supposed Cowboys "fans" with their daily Cowboys hating posts.
He’s correct if you give value points for productivity when actually playing vs. salary paid. In that case Rush is much better even though it’s a much smaller body of work.

TB 3 points (Dallas losing 19-3 to start the 4th quarter)
SF 17 points (Dallas losing 23-7 to start the 4th quarter)
LV 33 points (Dallas losing 27-19 to start the 4th quarter)
ARI 22 points (Dallas losing 22-7 to start the 4th quarter)
KC 9 points (Dallas losing 19-6 to start the 4th quarter)

Dak in those games: 121 of 200 60.5% Comp % 1,205 yards 6 td's 4 int's

The Dak led offense was behind by an average of 13.6 points to start the 4th quarter in those 5 games referenced. This has become a trend with Dak where he does nothing for 3 quarters before starting to rack up stats and make games closer than what they really were/are.

Outstanding fact based post. And it's funny during the game thread posts where the 1st 3 quarters of offense is just ignored completely.
The responses are pure comic relief.

The refusal to grasp garbage time stats and prevent defense and just the whole charade that has become so tiresome.

But if I want a laugh I just hit show ignored content and the stand up comics here never disappoint with their excuses, lol.

The question is would you rather have Mahomes/Allen over Prescott. The Cowboys win both of the last two games if they were the quarterback. Last year we had a Super Bowl team. We lost because our quarterback wet the bed with the football at the two minute warning at midfield.

With Dak's last 2 qb ratings of 32 and 20
I'd say Rush is a clear upgrade

I was just trying to point out that being the number 1 offense is misleading. Mahomes/Allen in this offense is probably not ranked number 1, but they win a lot more games.

I totally understand but we should have won that game against the 49ers.:banghead: You brought up a sore spot for me. We were healthy and had everything going for us. Dak blew it. We will never get that opportunity back.

I think Dak is one of the worst things to happen to this franchise. I wish they would have been able to draft Paxton Lynch or Connor Cook instead. At least the team would have able to move on from them after a few years. Instead, Dak fooled Jerry into giving him a franchise crippling contract.

Also, someone on this board kept saying Dak is a great leader and the camaraderie he builds makes him one of the top QBs. I don't see other offensive players clamoring to come here and play with Dak. If anything, offensive players get tired of Dak's limitation and go play elsewhere.

Dak was good for the franchise as a 4th round pick. The problem is when he decided that he wanted top dollar. The Cowboys should have treated him like the Seahawks treated Russ. Be nice to him but see what his value is on the trade market. Jerry said himself he was over paying Dak.:eek::rolleyes:

Did you forget when Tyron Smith got injured and Chaz Green had to come in at Left Tackle? Remember the debacle at the Atlanta Falcons? Or did you forget? 9-7 is still a winning season record. It's not like the Cowboys finished 6-10 or worse.

Yes, Smith missed 3 games that season (weeks 10, 11, and 17). In those games the Dak led offense scored 7, 9, and 6 points finishing 1-2 in those games. However, Smith was not out in week 12 when Dak led Dallas to 6 points against SD and week 16 when Dak led Dallas to 12 points against SEA.

Oh, and in 2017 Dak had 22 td's to 13 int's with a 62.9% Comp %....but I suppose that was the OL's fault too.

Facts are kinda ignored by a certain few.

Honestly, the worst take of this entire thing is when Eddleman says at the very end that there is no Ray Lewis running out of that locker room. Ray Lewis wants to be Micah Parsons when he gets older.

In the past, if we're comparing available sample size, sure.

But Rush is out of his league out there. Jerry is right. He plays like a veteran. He does some things right out there.

Then again, he's very limited athletically, and I think that gets exposed eventually. He just can't fire off those crisp, accurate passes. I know you guys will get giddy about this, but his balls float too much.

Hit a Dak nerve I see well if you consider Dak's last 5 egg-laying games Chiefs, Cards, Raider, Niners, and Bucs, how much worse can Cooper Rush be?
I know the truth hurts but it is what it is!!!!

I'm not here to defend the bad games that Dak has had over the years, but I can guarantee you that 5-6 straight games of Cooper Rush is going to make you hit the bottle hard just to get ready for Sundays.

The team may get itself up for Cooper for one or maybe two games - max. But at some point he is going to have to make plays. We do not have the Ravens defence or the Bears defence of 85 here.

Once a DC gets a bead on Rush it won't be pretty. If he miraculously wins 5 straight games it is going to result in one of two assessments.

1. The rest of the Cowboys players have underplayed if they put more effort into playing with Cooper than Dak to help win the games. That is disturbing on so many levels. We should be expecting maximum effort all the time.
2. If Cooper is making plays to win the next five games this will make it impossible for Dallas to put him back on the practice squad and certainly increase his asking price for years to come. If he can win against the Bengals, Commanders, Giants, Eagles and Rams he has a legitimate resume for a pay raise and possible chance to compete for a starting position against the Sam Darnold's of the league.

Does either of those two scenarios really sound realistic along the path of him being equivalent to Dak at the position?

All he was saying is that the Dallas offense will adjust with Rush at QB and so the drop off is more an overall offensive look rather than a Dak vs.Rush thing but many Dak fans will run to defend this at all costs.

I agree there is a team aspect to this, but the NFL has a way of exposing your smallest degree of weakness.

Your arm strength gets the ball there a tenth of a second slower than the regular starter.

The passing window is two inches narrower.

Your recognition has to be a tenth of a second faster.

The ball has to released a tenth faster.

The league is very good at isolating weakness and exploiting it. There is no doubt that everyone is going in to these next five weeks with a singular game plan. We are going to cover all of our assignments like glue. Cooper Rush is going to be invited to try and beat us by himself with his arm.

I don't think anyone is scared of Cooper's legs.

There is only one player on an NFL team everyone likes...the backup QB...until he has to start.

The one thing you always hope for as a backup is that the starter doesn't ever get injured. That's him ruining your great gig.

There's not a huge drop off between Phil Simms IQ points and those of a chimpanzee. Dak's not great but this is absurd.
They are alwasy cool and "on point" when you agree with them. Real pros and in the know.

If you don;t agree with them they are stupid idiots.

Same old boring schtick.

Incorrect. Everyone LOVES the #2 change of pace back. Obscene yards..."WAY better than the #1 running back".

Until the #2 back starts then they ....inevitably! .....flame out.

They never learn...they just keep thinking they are experts.
