10 years, $250 million fully guaranteed, incentives to make more. Thoughts?
No chance he gets fully guaranteed money. Haslim made that mistake with Watson and his fellow owners arent particularly happy about that. Jerry wouldnt cross that line.

Like Denim said you can’t extend him yet.

But this gets asked time and time again and im going to ask the same question. What incentive is there for him to sit early? The longer he waits the more he gets paid.
He could sign tomorrow and be guaranteed $250 million dollars. He could play on Monday and suffer a career ending injury. I would think that there’s plenty of incentive if the price was right.

I would think the only incentive for MP to sign early is injury. If he signs a big contract with a big money guarantee he is set. Injuries can happen and ruin everything. But other than that, he will make the big money.

Players extend early for insurance. What if they get really sick or hurt? What if their position or stye of play lends itself to a lot of wear and tear and so a production drop is likely? What if they're juicing and want to cash in before they got caught? What if there is a team that is currently desperate and willing to overpay? Lots of potential reasons.

I agree on the dollar figures. But let’s be real. Micah is getting paid as a pass rusher and will be the highest paid defensive player when he does eventually get a new contract.
I don’t disagree he will be highly paid. I just don’t see it being fully guaranteed as a defensive end or linebacker. Those guys get hurt more than quarterbacks…..

Actually the risk of injuries........LBer position has more injuries than any other position according to Stephen Jones.
