And the more he plays the more injury prone he becomes. Got to be smart with Micah's next contract and weigh all the pro's and con's before putting ink to paper.

quite possible. The Panthers Linebacker Luke Kuechly was a shoe in for a Bust in Canton until the concussions started to pile up. Time will tell

What makes you think he would?

Who is Parson's agent, btw?

Never happen:
After he holds out for 3 games, he'll be traded for a conditional 7th round pick.

Like Denim said you can’t extend him yet.

But this gets asked time and time again and im going to ask the same question. What incentive is there for him to sit early? The longer he waits the more he gets paid.

He'll sign after his 3rd year. The incentive is the boatload of money on the 2nd contract. After that, they can do as the like. The risk isn't there anymore. Besides, some players of that caliber consider it an insult to not get an extension after their 3rd year. Khalil Mack and Aaron Donald were going to hold out.

Parsons’ future payday could follow Chargers S Derwin James’ path. Just as James is more than a safety, Parsons is more ‘defensive weapon’ than he is linebacker. That said, Parsons is not eligible for a contract extension until 2024, so the conversation about a second contract before his second season is inherently premature.

Still, it is difficult not to appreciate the parallel between James’ four-year, $76 million extension & what could await Parsons. Cha-Ching!

10 years, $250 million fully guaranteed, incentives to make more. Thoughts?
Why? You never really save money. When guys outperform their contracts, they want another one. He’s making early first round money….let him play. Pay later.

I don’t have to know somebody personally to hear the words they have spoken and understand what motivates them and to see how a player has performed AFTER a new fat contract.

I assume you must have voted for a candidate without knowing them personally but doing so based on the words they have spoken and the actions they have taken….see how that works?
Voted for a candidate.....where we going with this? Now that would be hilarious, but on another board or forum.

Remain subjective......purely your right.

You can't extend him until after his third season
I wonder if the Mods can void a thread for being out in left field?
You are literally not allowed to extend him by league rules
Really - really don't understand CZ members posting about ANYTHING regarding any Cowboys player other than their ability to contribute to winning the next game on the 2022 schedule.
Damn contract extenstions, negotiations, restructures, etc. --- focus on what they can and should do Monday night against a division rival that is surprisingly 2-0.

Here come 25Per or more what was TJs and Bosas deals near 27 correct??ouch!

$25M??????? He'll laugh at that......Donald is currently the highest-paid defensive play at $31M. At a min, this is likely Parsons floor. He has another year before they start nego........honestly, I think $33-35M if he continues playing at his current level and avoids any significant injuries.

We can't afford him. He'll win a SB in SF.

IF and big IF we can get 5-6 years and Super Bowl w/o a long-term deal.........would you do a Hershel Walker-type trade?

That would mean the 5th year option and one franchise tag

UMM 25 AAV if you do the actual math getting NEW deal after 3 years ON A 5YR rookie deal...

there's a lot of old money mixed with new it will not be 31 the first few seasons. besides hes NOT Donald, Donalds just now got that deal after he threated to retire and hes been the best at his position for 7 plus years.,. Lets see Parsons remain at high level before anointing his bets Defender in the nfl.. tJ watt had 22 sacks last year?? hes at around 27mil..thats the comp, not the best inside DL that is on the way to the HOF he has money, production and now a ring,

mp not there yet
