Really comes down to 1 thing, can he get a firm grip on the ball? Stiches out because he no longer required them since the incision was healed so now it comes down to being able to grip the ball or not. If he can't I don't want him out there, if he can with no problem then he should be able to go.

I would rather see him return for that game than against the Rams or Philly. He has a much better chance of playing well against the commodes. He’s going to need some confidence heading into the Rams and Philly game.

Cooper is holding his own, there shouldn't be any urgency to rush Dak back in without him healing properly.

I would suspect the urgency is on his part alone. It shouldn't be. That salary guarantees he had nothing to lose, but continued exposure.

Monday is the second game Prescott has missed after fracturing his thumb during the Cowboys' season-opening loss against the Buccaneers. Prior to throwing the ball during pregame warmups, Prescott provided an update on his recovery and when he plans to return to the field.

"A couple of weeks, and I'm counting this week as one of them," Prescott told ESPN's Lisa Salters while adding that he isn't ruling out playing in the Cowboys' upcoming game against the Commanders.

Prescott's ability to grip the ball is the determining factor of when he will return to the field.

I'm guessing this is just to keep the Commanders guessing. But of course some will spin it as him being worried about his job. I agree with those who say that there is no need to rush him back and he needs to take his time to heal completely.

Unsurprising

I imagine he would prefer to light up a leaky Wash defense than come back to face LAR or Philly.

With the way our ground n pound and defense is working, all he needs to do is drop back and hand off and we should win on Sun.

But this earns him “toughness” points and removes Rush from winning 3 straight and Dak won’t have to hear more and more accolades for Coop and more and more questions about his game

I'd say it's also a guy who just wants to play football. But this is where the team has to protect a player from himself and do what's best, for all involved, long-term.
