Goodness. He has really put himself in a bad situation. Coming off his recent performances fans have really stopped giving him excuses. I'm not sure there is anything to be gained by speaking publicly. No matter what he says, he has to perform. If he doesn't perform, it's going to just get worse for him.
The fact that he doesn't understand this and that sometimes it's better to let your play speak for you, actually defines exactly where the problem with Dak really is.

If he didnt have the capacity weeks 1-7 last season wouldnt have happened.

Now if you say he doesnt have the mental capacity to do it consistently. Now we are onto something. And that right there is why Dak isnt ELITE. He cant perform at a high level CONSISTENTLY. Or hasnt proven that he can to me at least.
Bingo you nailed it!
You have to play well CONSISTENTLY to be considered a good/great QB.
Dak shows flashes and it's enough to keep you hoping he puts it all together.
But after 6 seasons he has been unable too.
At some point you have to cut bait and move on.

This coming from a 7 year vet? Just now seeing how easy it is to play football? Well, I guess when he comes back he will have finally learned the QB position...but, I doubt it. The more he talks the more pressure he puts on himself, so if he stinks like most of the time he is really going to get the heat. Like they say, "sometimes there comes a time to just shut up". He does not know that.

Pretty much. I am happy the Cowboys are winning but I was hoping we wouldnt so we could at least believe Jerry would draft a QB high.

Then reality sets in and you realize he would never do that because he wouldnt want to hurt Dak's feelings so may as well cheer for wins lol.

I for one wanted to lose out and trade down a couple spots and take Jalen Carter. But hey. What do I know?

You are constantly learning as a player and honing your craft. Along the way, you can lose sight of some of the things that were working for you. I think trying to overcome and play with injuries has done that some with Dak, so it might be good for him to study what's happening on the field and use what can help him get back to where he was even as recent as early last season.
Well I sincerely hope you are correct.
With Dak's contract he will most likely be here for a good while longer.
As I am a Cowboy's Fan first and foremost I would love for him to excel.
I just don't see it happening given the large body of work that we have seen from Dak.

I still can't get over the "Deer-in-the-headlights" look Dak had during the Tampa game.
At this point, he wasn't hurt.
He just looked befuddled as all get out.

Having said thus, I hold out hope that he still has more growing to do.
But after 7 years in the league, I have my doubts.
Apparently, since 2000, the Cowboys have drafted the most Pro Bowl first-round picks than any other team in the league.
And yet we have three playoff wins to show for it.
So, it's debatable that Dak doesn't/hasn't have/had talent around him (Dez Bryant, Amari Cooper - no, he wasn't pick by the Cowboys but he's still a talent - Frederick, Martin, Tyron Smith, Cee Dee Lamb, Zeke Elliott) as the argument goes.

Anyway, he likely shouldn't have said what he did, i.e., the game is so simple.
He's going to be held to his words, especially if and when sideline cameras catch him with that befuddled look in his eyes after he throws a pick in a most inopportune time.

But I'm pulling for him. I can't do anything but. I'm a Dallas Cowboys fan.

A lot on this board felt the same way.
But who knows if Jerry would have drafted a QB early?
At this point just enjoy the wins and see what happens.
If nothing else this season sure is not boring! LOL

That whole game it looked like Tampa had 2 extra guys on the field........ then I realized that was b/c both Tampa safeties were playing within 15 yards of the LOS taking away all Daks favorite dink throws......... and he was done.

This is the stupidest take in history of takes lol.
Dak set the Cowboys passing TD record LAST YEAR.
The team ranked 1st in offense LAST YEAR.

So if he is what he is after 6 seasons, it is the most productive Cowboy QB in history.
Please stop! Dak Prescott is not the most productive Cowboy QB in history. A below average QB in 2022 will have a better QB rating than the best QBs in the past.

Dak Prescott is not more productive than Troy Aikman was.

No...you aren't.

You been playing this game for years and years since a kid. You CAN'T change your DNA.

Your post is automatically contradictory." Dak can change and learn and grow and become something new. If only he can return to last year."

Means you are dumb enough to regress? And if only you can return to your average past....well hurray the champion?

VEry polite and nice way to look at things. It's cool.

Dak has a dilemma. If Rush plays against the Rams and wins he's in trouble. If rush plays and he gets exposed dak can ease back in.

I've been looking for that deer-in-the-headlights picture but can't find it on the Internet.
I videoed the game but told my wife she could delete it to clear space. :(
