What's with this team and their refusal to use the IR designation. Seems they just want to create the will he, won't he drama. What would it have hurt to place he and Dak on IR designated for return.

Never trust the Cowboys when the make early predictions on when a player will be back from injury. day to day = 2 weeks. 2 weeks = a month. 2 months = 10-12 weeks. 3 months = 6 months. 4 months or more = out for the year which they will announce in 4 months.

Gallup: I can't play until I'm mentally right.

Team: Okay, then we can't pay you until you're mentally right.

Gallup: I'm mentally right.
wish we could control your post that easily... (mentally wrong is where you operate...)

After having 4 knee surgeries and tearing both acl's myself, I'd be shocked if he played this soon anyway. It's hard just to get back to 100% physically. The mental aspect of trusting the knee is even harder.

Yeah torn ACL and LCL here and a plethora of other motorcycle related injuries this is true... Knee is very solid but every time I put my left leg down to balance the bike I think about it... yeah mental is big part of it... I could not imagine worrying if a direct hit will send me back to rehab or end my opportunity to make a living... we are pulling for you Gallup! one dynamic catch will help build that confidence... or one good hit.. ;)

Nope, he is close to being back and it is hard to be critical when they are winning anyway.
PUP would of at least freed up a roster spot, if he does not play this week or next week it will be even more dumb that he was not put on PUP and basically had minimum of 4 weeks after the start of the season to get ready.

I shredded my ankle several years ago and to this day it reminds me several times per day that it exists. Going straight is easy. Jumping, cutting, and going up or down stairs always has me thinking how it will respond.

They have done an excellent job managing the roster. The depth that they have is a strong point of the team.

"It's a process....you have to stack one practice over another practice, and see the process...after that put it in a box and stack it on another box and process it again. Also can't decide until i watch the tape. Yeah, the tape is what is important that i need to watch in order to process this. "

Ok but it still would be nice to have that extra spot for another WR, or RB or DB or LB, since he is not on PUP he is just a game day inactive.

I have had several knee surgeries as well and I can totally see it. Even when the doctors say that it is 100%, it is a mental thing that you either don't think that it is 100% or you do, but don't 100% trust it. Tough to open it up and go full speed and it not be in the back of your mind.

Still barely 9 months off of ACL surgery. Takes a while for these guys mentally to feel like they're back. Probably won't get that feeling until sometime NEXT spring.

He had surgery in early February. Early October would be 8 months. He's not 9 months post surgery.
