1. They are much improved, even missing Tyron.
2. The Wrs ran horrible routes last year. Coop included. Hence he is not here anymore.
3. Moore absolutely sucks. He scheme is predictable and not even a scheme. He has changed to a run first offense since Rush has come on and this needs to continue.
4. Zeke was horrible last year. He continues to leave yards on the field but it is acceptable his level of play. He is grossly overpaid and it kills us 10x's more than Dak's contract ever will.
5. He still sucks. I have no idea what he actually does.

You missed the defense fell apart in the playoffs. They did...couldn't get them off the field.

When they showed the play from the pocket you see Rush throw the ball right before CeeDee makes his last cut. Before he was open and there was separation. Actually threw the ball the direction CeeDee was not running yet.

Dak would have held the ball a little longer and threw the ball after the last cut when you could see CeeDee open.

Both would have been a TD cause he was so open but in different situations that timing makes all the difference

Romo was showing replays against Bengals where Rush would throw the ball before the cuts to where the receiver will end up. Its actually pretty impressive with the little amount of playing time. He would only get better with more experience. Dak is at his celling. He isnt getting better. And thats not a cut on Dak because he is pretty good and has more arm strength than Rush. But if Dak isnt doing this by now he never will. Remember 3 or 4 years ago it was about getting Dak friendly players. He needs to see the separation.

He actually was making some anticipatory throws like this early last season, but then he reverted. So he has the ability, he just doesn't seem to have the confidence, whether in himself or in his receivers.

You said exactly what I wanted to! People are citing ONE play to show Dak CAN do it. Yes....he can.

But when you evaluate a player, and offense, a team....you have to do so with trends and tendency.

To deny that Dak might have a tendency to wait too long to throw...or a tendency to miss the momentum of a receiver simply isn't reality.

Every single player has some sort of fault, and this might be daks.

This is a very biased take with no basis in reality.

Dak has thrown many many great passes throughout the years.

Dak has thrown a lot more passes that are consistently behind his receivers which forces the receiver to adjust and lose momentum thereby leaving yards on the field. How many times in that Tampa game did we see this where the ball was consistently behind or consistently high, WR's adjust and get dropped immediately, instead hit the receiver in stride it goes for larger gains.

Now no QB is ever going to consistently hit that. But Dak has proven over the last 7 years that he consistently is late and behind in his throws and I doubt that is going to ever change. Oddly enough I recall McNabb being the same way

As a matter of fact, I did chart a number of games (I believe it was 4 might have been 5 games) a few years back & compared him to Brees. Going off memory Dak was in the mid 20's (%) of inaccurate to bad passes in 3 of the 4 games. His best game was like 15%. Again, going of memory he had something like 1-2 per game that was a high level NFL pass. So very low % of his passes. With maybe 1 exceptional throw over the entire sample size. Again very low %.

Brees on the other hand was 5% or less of inaccurate to bad passes in like 2 of the 4 with his worst game at like 7-9 %. That's a huge difference. NFL games are usually decided on a handful of plays. Granted Brees was playing really well at the time but even if you say 10% is a league standard for high level QB's then it's still obvious that Dak was well off pace. (I was actually surprised at the 5% or less and how he was consistently sub 10%) I don't remember Bree's high level or exceptional throw numbers but I know they were significantly better.

Also, keep in mind this excluded passes that were obviously intentional throw aways, deflected at the line, etc..

It's a trait of all the guys who can play a good quarter or a good game or a brief stretch of games but ultimately are just placeholders until the team can find someone better. They aren't consistently high level passers. If they were high level passers, the questions wouldn't be asked.

Although I don't like it, teams very often step it up when a key player is injured and the backup takes the reins. You would like to think they give 110% regardless. I think we are seeing that. I just hope the effort does not diminish when Dak returns to the lineup. When you have a top noch performer you can become a bit complacent and fall into the mindset of, "it's ok if I am not 100%, Dak will fix it".

I totally agree. Anticipation passing Dak excels at in practice but loses his nerve in actual games. Couple this with Daks slow progression in his reads, that pass to Cee Dee might have been knocked down by the closing safety. It makes no sense that Dak lacks this ability at this point in his career yet he makes 40 million per.

Silly coaches! All those years in the NFL and all those millions in salary. Yet they can’t see what fans see. It’s so clear to so many fans that even a street JAG like Rush is better than Dak. Who in the NFL or media started this whole idea that Dak is the Cowboys franchise QB. Who voted him to the Pro Bowl 3 times?
I tell you, Jerry has the entire league and the media in his pocket to hoodwink us on Dak just so he can make money. If he really wanted to win, he would hire some of the posters on the Zone to coach the team.

Nope. Three & outs have nothing to do with the outcome of the game. Receivers knowing the ball isn't coming unless they are wide open, meaningless. Receivers not knowing where the ball will be placed if it does come their way. Not being able to complete a simple dump off to keep a drive alive. Etc, etc.

None of that is the QB's fault. He's just along for the ride and he really wishes these other guys would get their act together.

You missed out a load:

- The rain has made it difficult to grip the football.
- The sun at A T & T has been the reason receivers dropped the ball on many occasions, nothing to do with inaccurate throws.
- The kicker missing field goals as other kickers don't miss any conversions/field goals
- Special teams/starting field position
- Penalties
- Officials not restarting the game quick enough when he ran in the middle of the field with 14 seconds remaining.

It's almost like people expect quarterbacks that are paid $40 million to not face any adversity and only ever need to drive the bus.

Dak does make some good throws...occasionally...but does not have good anticipation and often holds the ball too long. He is definitely a "ill throw it when you turn around and are open" type of Qb. He isnt putting a foot out in front, ala Montana, so they can run with it or throwing it to a spot before they break ala Aikman.

I agree and find it shameful. 40 million...smh
