Problem is that doesn't work in the playoffs.

Not true, The Ravens with Ray Lewis embarrassed opponents in the regular season and went on to win the Super Bowl without scoring much on offense. The opposing players were scared to catch or run the ball because they knew they were gonna get hit hard by somebody on that defense!

I believe the Cowboys are instilling that same fear in their opponents this season. Every quarterback we play is running for his life, and we are for the most part applying explosive hits at the point of contact on plays.

This defense its the Real Deal and can take us to the Promise Land just like the Raven's defense did!

They are moving the ball enough to rest the defense and that's a winning formula

The Cowboys have scored 7 offensive touchdowns during their 4 game winning streak.

Convince yourself that's good enough, if you like, but do you really think it's good enough to march to a championship?

You know it's not, but some of you are too invested in a narrative to acknowledge it. Ask yourself how you got there.
The thing of it is, when we've needed the offense to score, they've scored. Whether it is to win the game or to match a score and take back the lead. So it seems as though we are playing to the strength of the team, the defense, and allowing gameflow to dictate when we open things up on the offense.

I know you guys are missing your fantasy stats (me too!), but the truth of it is we have a winning formula. For years now we've seen this offense abandon the run and fling it around 40+ times when the game is still close. Whether it's Dak changing plays or Kellen calling them in the past that is the reason is irrelevant. We've been screaming "stick to the run!" for years, and now that we do, you guys immediately want to go back to when we were scoring 30ppg and losing? Why?

I don't care if it's Dak or Rush to be honest. I think Dak probably has more physical tools while Rush has more between his ears and is better at throwing timing routes. I just hope they stick to this game plan when Dak comes back. I don't need to see them trying to validate his contract by throwing for 400 yards and losing, just keep winning games.

Point is, they don't have to be scoring 30 points a game. All they need to do is score enough to win. Anemic offense = four straight wins. I'll take that outcome any gameday
Scoring 30 points or more a game excites some fans the most but I'm with you.

Perhaps it also has to do with a back-up QB starting in just his 2nd thru 5th career games in 6 seasons while still getting acclimated to starting.....in addition to not pressing and doing what is asked of him.

In Dak Prescott's first 5 career games as a starter he threw for a total of 4 TD's while Dallas put up the following point totals: 19, 27, 31, 24, and 28 (an average of 25.8 points/game). The majority of scoring in those games were either by way of rushing TD's or FG's.

In Cooper Rush' first 5 career games as a starter he has thrown for a total of 7 TD's while Dallas put up the following point totals: 20, 20, 23, 25, and 22 (an average of 22 points/game).

So the difference between Dak's first 5 games and Rush's first 5 games, in terms of scoring, is roughly a FG per game difference........and yet somehow there is a vast difference between the Dak led offense and the Rush led offense.

Perhaps the comparison is routed more on what Dak did last season, his 6th season as a starter, compared to what Rush is doing now (his 5 career games as a starter) which of course is an unfair comparison.

The bottom line: Dallas has unexpectedly and thankfully won 4 straight with Rush filling in for Dak so be happy about that stat instead of adding to the divisiveness of the Dak vs. Rush debate.

When Dallas score a lot with Dak, it is when they play bums and get out to a quick lead, and the opposition starts to just self-implode. Those blow-outs are usually just the result of a compounding issue of stupidity by the opponent that day, which includes plenty of blown coverages, and poor defense. It’s like an NBA game these days when even an average team can get hot and blows out teams by 40.

If the game slows down, as it does generally with a good defenses, Dak implodes as normal, because he’s just not a mentally good Qb. He’s as mediocre as they come.

With Dak we failed to score in 15 consecutive Quarters a TD(when Zeke was out for 6 games)....a new Cowboy record.
Ya Alex, I'll take "Going with the positive results for 600$, please.....

We had a similar stretch of horrendous play with Dak in both 2019 and 2021. You can also include his 2017-2018 stretch of Quincy Carter records of futility in terms of less than 200 yards passing.

The Ravens generated 14 TOs in the first 5 games, while we are currently at 7. Our defense last year had a higher TO pace to start the season at 5 and we ended up with 35 TOs. The Ravens generated 61 TOs that season.

They were able to compensate defensively for an average offense by producing an INSANE level of TOs. There is rarely even going to be a defense like that.

Please do not insult that legendary defense by comparing them to ours.

Losing the TOP and having 240 yards of offense isn't a winning formula. You're looking for reasons to praise them.
Have you looked at the number of drives each team got last game. Haven’t looked for that stat. It seems we are getting more drives than the other team. I remember Anger is shanking 1 punt per game the last 2 games. But not sure how many times his punting. Maher is getting a workout. I am not complaining about wins. And we are improving with Rush in each game on Offense..

We had our worst game on offense with Rush against the Rams. Improving we are not.

No, just funny to read the posts.

Yes. It must be hilarious to read a response to the Cowboys offense improving with Rush with the fact that they just played their worst offensive game with him.

LOLs all around.
