Two Huge Reasons we Lost

This is why you shouldn't just look at the raw data - situational is better. Key moments in the game we couldn't stop the run. Short yardage was the worst. The final drive was like 45 straight run yards before they began to throw and the defense had no answer.

When you lose the time of possession battle handly you get tired. You're right that doesn't show up in the raw stats, but big part of what we saw on that last drive. The QB sneaks we just have yet to figure out, and something we'll have to.

Dan Quinn lost his balls and ability to make adjustments!
:hammer:.....most passive game to date. Just when you think it's time to apply more pressure...he goes to a dime defense...and lays back.

The two biggest reasons we lost IMHO were Kellen and Moore. Friggin pass on 4th and inches.. and another pass on 3rd and 1 .. all while the running game is picking up 5 yards a pop. Oh and did I mention that our noodle armed backup finally threw some INTs that weren't dropped or negated by penalty. Moore tried to put the game on Rush's arm .. and it fell woefully short .. like a lot of his passes. The INTs (and the boneheaded playcalling) allowed the Eagles a short field way too many times. The Cowboys were outcoached in this one.. plain and simple.

Rush defense has been an issue.

The Eagles averaged 3.5 ypc. The run defense was not great, but that should have been sufficient if not for Rush's gifts and our bone headed coaching staff mishandling that 4th and inches .. not challenging such an obvious bad spot about made me loose .. er.. shirt..

Sometimes

the other team is just better than you that night.

And sometimes it's nice to kick their rear in the revenge game on Christmas Eve. Ya know...with our starting QB, at home.

After the first interception I would’ve thrown Grier in there to throw off the defense. Rush clearly couldn’t handle the game. Not saying Dak could either but Grier would’ve thrown the Eagles defense for a loop. He’s the most mobile out of the 3 QBs on the team.

The Cowboys did a better job defending the run than the Eagles did.

DAL: 26 rushes, 134 yds, 5.2 yds./carry
PHI: 39 rushes, 136 yds, 3.5 yds./carry
The eagles didn't have to defend the run .. kellen stopped it for them.

And a fine job he did too.. I especially liked how he crossed them up calling passes on 4th and inches and 3rd and 1.. Absolute genius I tell you.

1. We still cannot stop the run.
2. Rush has no arm.

Not complicated, but we won't go anywhere until that is fixed.

Those are problems, but the number one reason we lost is turnovers.

We were -3 in turnover differential............that is a loss 99% of the time.

The defense didn't get a 3rd stop after we made it 20-17. They let them march down and score another 6. That was the ball game. Until the defense has true killer instinct that stuff happens. Right now they are just a solid Top 10 defense that can keep us in most games. Certainly not championship caliber that people have been touting. I don't see it.

That was the drive they had to stop. They're a piece or two away from being that #1 defense, Damone Clark could help
