Two Huge Reasons we Lost

1. We still cannot stop the run.
2. Rush has no arm.

Not complicated, but we won't go anywhere until that is fixed.

Miles Sanders ran for 71 yards and Philly owned the TOP. Hurts threw for 155 and ran for 30.

Our QB play and turnovers is a much bigger issue

The two biggest reasons we lost IMHO were Kellen and Moore. Friggin pass on 4th and inches.. and another pass on 3rd and 1 .. all while the running game is picking up 5 yards a pop. Oh and did I mention that our noodle armed backup finally threw some INTs that weren't dropped or negated by penalty. Moore tried to put the game on Rush's arm .. and it fell woefully short .. like a lot of his passes. The INTs (and the boneheaded playcalling) allowed the Eagles a short field way too many times. The Cowboys were outcoached in this one.. plain and simple.
The Eagles averaged 3.5 ypc. The run defense was not great, but that should have been sufficient if not for Rush's gifts and our bone headed coaching staff mishandling that 4th and inches .. not challenging such an obvious bad spot about made me loose .. er.. shirt..

The second post appears to contradict the first. Surely you mean three biggest reasons.

Lets be fair, sometimes the players need to take responsibility on the field, we had a QB that threw 3 Ints and a QBR of 32. Unless KM personally told Rush to make the poor throw then responsibility needs to go to the player on the field. Then again he's a back-up, so you give him some leeway.

The 4th and inches call was similar to the successful call vrs the Bengals....successful to Brown, its all down to the execution.

Oh and 10/72 yards penalties, especially the Fowler jump may have played a small part.

We turned the ball over 3 times and forced 0. Run D was spotty. I don't know if it was outright bad. They didnt get a whole lot, but it was good enough to stick with it and keep us from coming back

@RonnieT24 actually the gameplan (against one of the in form team in the NFL) was pretty successful and gives Dak the blueprint to follow.....stick to the run, even when it appears to be stalling. Lets admit we had momentum in the the 3rd qrt and a more talented QB....the interception by Garner-Johnson when Lamb was wide open was the ultimate momentum killer.

I find it interesting that the Dallas offensive game plan suddenly changed this week (from the past 4 weeks) wherein Rush threw 38 attempts and Dallas rushed 26 times.....that is what they used to do when Dak was at QB. The rushing game last night averaged 5.2 yards/attempt so between the high number of pass attempts and the going for it on 4th and 1 at their own 30 it almost seems as if someone wanted Rush and Dallas to lose last night to clear the way for Dak.

Conspiracy theory????

The defense got owned last night and the coaching decisions to 'suddenly' change the offensive approach that has been working to a pass happy one are issues as well.

The defense didn't get a 3rd stop after we made it 20-17. They let them march down and score another 6. That was the ball game. Until the defense has true killer instinct that stuff happens. Right now they are just a solid Top 10 defense that can keep us in most games. Certainly not championship caliber that people have been touting. I don't see it.

Bingo, someone said you can’t keep everyone under 20 and we knew that BUT if you are that D that everyone is talking about in that BIG SPOT and moment, you must bow up and show us. Not let them drive the length of the field on run plays only. You are Not that D.

this is because no matter how many shiny toys like Diggs and Parsons you have, unless you have the DTs to stop the run and push the pocket you don’t have an elite defense

Not really. Turnovers killed us on the road.

The need/want for a run stuffing DT type has been discussed for years by Dallas fans and for some reason the FO simply does not see the need and instead the draft guys like Trysten Hill who never pan out.

In spite of turnovers Dallas saw themselves behind 20-17 early in the 4th when Philly went on a 13 play 75 yard TD drive that ate up almost 8 minutes of the clock.

The defense failed to stop the Eagles offense that drive which saw Philly convert 3 3rd downs that drive.

Yes, turnovers hurt but in spite of them Dallas still had a chance if only the defense stepped up and stopped Philly that drive.

Why Dak-stans hating that Cooper Rush is paying homage? Cooper Rush doing his best imitation of Dak when he played Denver and onwards. Zero points at half-time on 5 completions total for 75 yards that game. Scored two TDs in garbage time in the last four minutes when the Broncos were up by thirty and Dak got outplayed by Bridgewater.

People see what they want . Eagles got a big run stuffing DT in the first round. He was double teamed and pushed out of the hole many times.
NBC won't show you that, because Colinsworth would be suicidal but go look yourself.

You need great LB play with better talent at DT, to be a true run stuffing team

Dallas ran 26 times for 135 yards 5.2 YPC

Philly ran 39 times for 135 yards 3.5 YPC

You cannot win, if you cannot score points. The offense inability to have any success has been hidden by a strong defense. Outside of a big run from Pollard, offense did nothing the last 2 weeks. We need our starting QB back. As for the run defense, they have to do a better job with the read option next time they face this team, Parsons really had his struggles against it.

I dont think we were too bad against the run considering. Our offense was sooo bad that all they had to do was hand it off. They had a great scheme exposing Parsons a bit with our scheme. They were the first team to make him cover and play the run a lot. Clever, but its good for him to learn that.

Had our offense been moving the ball or scoring points, their run game would have been ineffective.
That one play they ran 3 times and I think they scored twice on it had Parsons in a bad spot. He can't cover the QB run and WR/TE going out in a route.

I'm confident next time they play Quinn will get that fixed
